Aww...how sweet and sad. Combining the death of Mrs. Gamgee and giving Frodo a female friend (for once!) is a lovely idea.

Oh...what a beautifully sad story...

The imagery and the understanding of a child's mind is perfect. And the way you captured Frodo, especially his empathy and compassion for that little girls is incredible. It's so very vivid that he has been through that before, he understands what it's like when your whole world falls apart.

What a wonderfully sweet and gentle tale. I love the way you descibe Marigold's conflicting feelings; her observation of the way things are at Bag End, compared to her own home, and her longing for her mother, her worries and her memories, are all beautifully and sensitively written. The whole sequence of events are truly believable and utterly hobbity. I am in awe and in love with your portrayal of Frodo. I love this story very much and enjoy its soothing imagery. Thank you so much for writing and sharing it with us.

It isn´t easy for any child to loose his or her mother. It leaves a hole that no one can fill. It is good for Marigold that Frodo is there, able to help her.

Such a bittersweet story.
She recognized all the fine things and even appreciated every one of them, but she never wanted for more than to be back with her family, with all the imperfections and troubles that included. It was her familiar life she really wanted.
