Wonderfully written. Deliciously descriptive and does a brilliant job of capturing Grant's character. Imagery is presented so well it's easy to picture the scene. Fantastic job!

I liked this. Grant's competitiveness even drives him to challenge 'fate' in that last line. The Grant/Ariel relationship is an intriguing one, and the impact it has on his home life is certainly as intriguing.
