Orlina 2009-05-07 . chapter 25I would leave a long and complicated review... but I really, REALLY wanna go right to the sequel, forgetting all about actually getting some sleep, because WOW!
I readily admit to have been more than impressed my this fic!
Thanks for writting it cause it blew my mind! I rarely find original and well written fanfiction anymore, they all feel the same!
Anyways, I loved it!

Lord Lugos 2008-04-21 . chapter 25It took two whole glorious days to read it all, and its not over? There's a sequel to resolve still? Argh! Good grief! It was so good, but still, I need resolution. Bloody Merlin of Hell and Heaven and everything in between and not. Gotta sleep now. Will start the wondrous sequel later. |

Cristina 2007-07-13 . chapter 25 Alright, I know I'm a bit late for writing a review but it's all coming back to me. The rich details in your writing ranging from characters to even the main plot line in "Harry Gets Even" are incredible, there is no other fanfic that equals this one on its, well, greatness!! Is it too much to say that Jo Rowling has some competition? No, I think not. Although, I must admit, the story isn't COMPLETELY afresh in my mind (I'm no elephant), I remember reading this and thinking that this can stand as a book alone from Jo's writing. Yes, you might've used some of her characters but you created others that are as real as the one's you did not (although you gave the borrowed ones life as well).
"WHAM. With strength worthy of a pile driver, Harry felt Jamie’s backhand fist strike him fully across the face. Harry spun sideways and his glasses snapped only to fly off his nose. Fireworks blossomed behind his vision and as the taste of copper filled his mouth, it was only Quidditch-ingrained reflex which prevented him from hitting ground. Ginny was right—he did pack quite a punch. Big-time ouch." This part is just one of the many in your 25 chapter story that managed to make me feel what the character felt and not only that... even laugh when it was really no laughing matter - although Harry did think it was (tsk tsk). It's strange how just one person can write a story based on books that already have a massive fan base and acquire some fans of her own! It ain't just luck, hon.
Overall, great characters, great story and amazing writer. Can the sequel be as good? I'll leave reviews to see how it goes... Cheers to the greatest fanfic writer there is. Period. |
The-Resident 2007-06-04 . chapter 4'Godric knows you’vebeen through the ringer, Harry' should be 'Godric knows you’ve been through the wringer, Harry'
'nobodywill' should be 'nobody will'
'believewhere' should be 'believe where'
Other than the above, a very nice chapter. -evil grin- |
LorneStar 2007-04-16 . chapter 1i just finished this and added it to my C2. Hope the second fic is as good as the first! |
sisterthemoon 2007-04-09 . chapter 25One of the 'benchmarks' I use to gauge how I feel about a story is to think back on how many times I really wanted to skip to the end while reading. The more often it happens, the better I think the story is. This is one of those that had me wanting to skip to the end to see how it all turned out--didn't, of course, but still!
Absolutely amazing. The characters were all fantastic, the writing was beautiful, and the plot was extremely tight. One of the best fics I've read on this site, I'm just sad it took me so long to find it. Off to the sequel with me--though as I'm at work, I probably ought to do some work first... :) |
HermanTumbleweed 2007-03-07 . chapter 25This is a most enchanting story, and gave me many hours of reading and escapism from the rigors of life. Thank you for sharing your vision and your imagination. At times the story was a bit too cerebral and tended to drag, but I am very glad I hung in there to the end. I'll be going on to read the next immediately. Thanks again for so much fun.

ClaMiAl 2006-09-21 . chapter 1Cool story! I like how you portray the characters and the surprises that come all though the story. Though it was a bit confusing at times. What I'm still not so sure about, is 'Jamie'. The way you descirbed him when the others first found him, that's how I would imagine someone without a soul, like someone who's been given the Dementor's Kiss. But until the end of the story, Jamie becomes more and more...normal: walking, having enotions, some thought process as prooven by the fact that he knows who the others are and that he can 'talk' to people...by the way, that was another thing I didn't really get. That was not how I would imagine someone who has no soul. But other than that I liked your story very much and enjoyed reading it. |
Luc 2006-05-13 . chapter 6 Awfully lot of explaining here. Couldn't Ginny have summarized a bit? And she isn't usually the one used in this role.
This is a great story, the idea, the grammar, more than ok. This chapter just halted the pace too much. Yeah, this was all ok to know but it could've waited a while and brought up in more detail after the situation has calmed down a bit. |
Wheezy1 2006-05-12 . chapter 25very unique story, and very well written! Thank you for sharing it. |
rubbaundiesluva 2006-03-26 . chapter 1 I can't tell you how much I thouroughly enjoyed this read. (I guess it helps knowing all of the authors little quirks and nuances.) I did have a rough go in the beginning, but as I got going I had to force myself to stop reading (if my eyes didn't make me stop sooner!) This "novel" takes a deep look into an aspect of Harry Potter that I had never even thought could exist! And after realizing that Rae had written this piece of fic BEFORE the sixth book came out I was floored at her knowledge that she had of the characters and their lives. I had previously read the books by JK...and I loved them, but this will make me think of Harry in a different light.
Rae, I am so glad that you let me into your life...through Harry...I only wish that I could have joined the craze earlier! I love your book and hope that you will now let me read your second part. (Holding it hostage was a low blow!) I love you and hope you continue to let me read about your life!
Love, love, love the "book!" |
wy 2006-02-26 . chapter 6 well i tried to read your story the begining was good made sense tragic and then you started on with the rubbish and it kept getting worse untill halfway through this chapter i quit; really quite riddiculas if you ask me |
chicken_fiend 2006-01-21 . chapter 25 hey, I got this recommendation (actually this guy forced me to write it down and wrote it in huge letters on the board) for your story in my english class. So I've been reading it since around Christmas and I'm glad I did. I thought this would be pretty lame crap, but I was surprised.
Anyway to make a long story short- freaking awesome story and props to you. Very creative. |
