Lady Razorsharp 2008-05-05 . chapter 1Whew. You said it was dark and you didn't lie. Agonizing...and yet Bonnie's response is just what's called for.
Very deftly wrought. Tortured inner monologues for the win. *g* |
crism1976 2008-02-18 . chapter 1Nice story. I always thought they were demanding a great deal from Michael without any acknowledgment of the price he paid. Leaving your entire life behind you can't be easy, especially when you leave people you love involuntairly.
Very nice line, "He longed for the little things. The small, familiar, loving touches, a real hug - he couldn't remember the last time he'd received more than the cursory thank-you-hug." People need touch. There have been all sorts of studies that demonstrate how babies fail to thrive if they don't have enough human touch.
Thanks for sharing your story. |

Deona Lindholm 2005-04-09 . chapter 1One word: WOW! I was wondering just when things had begun to change, having to do with demeanors between all of them, especially Devon and Michael.
Any chance you're going to continue this? At least do a story in Devon's POV, which would include the talk after Bonnie finds Michael? |

Great Big Sea 2004-08-29 . chapter 1:(; That was sad! I think I'll dig out my Knight Rider DVD's and watch that episode again, since I haven't had time to watch them cause of work. Nice job! |
Jennifer 2004-08-26 . chapter 1 I debated whether to combine this comment with the one for your latest fic Miracles and Disappointments, but then realized this story deserved it's own comment and plea for continuance. Michael's sadness and despair at his treatment are heartbreaking. Also his sense of isolation is rather obvious. I mean Devon and Bonnie and KITT seem to exclude him from most family type interactions, for want of a better discription. It's like they forget that Michael is a human being who is still healing from a very traumatic experience. In fact it is as if Michael is treated as some sort of tool they only take out of a box when something needs to be done and then put back without any regard for his condition except only a cursory glance to make sure he is in working order. It is no wonder then that he probably thinks that he is not wanted, shoot he at this point probably also thinks he will be discarded when he can't do the job anymore due to too much damage.
Its good that Bonnie and Devon have realized their mistakes and started to make amends. But I don't think apologies are enough. Michael's trust in them has been shattered, which isn't a hard thing for them to do since Michael's trust in people in general at that point in time was/is a very fragile thing. He doesn't trust easy when it comnes to certain things, as was alluded to in the pilot when he said "I'll never trust anybody again," to Devon's words of, "...trust me," just after his introduction to KITT. What I wonder is why it took so long for them to see what they were doing to Michael.
As for KITT's actions, well I wonder if he wasn't just taking his cue from the others in the way he was treating Michael. After all Micheal was the new-comer to their group. |
