A different kind of war- and a different kind of fic. Good characterization, excellent pacing, this is what Warhammer 40K stories should be like. The only thing I can complain about is the length- and that minor criticism should be disregarded should you so wish as irrelevant.

Okay, that was just plain awesome. The interaction between the captain and the Commissarwas fantastic, the line about sleeping in his uniform was great and the Ork communication was priceless. One side note: The part about Griggs not bathing was funny, but it seemed a bit overdone.

Please write more stories like this! Maybe you could try it in reverse, a Naval Commissar reasigned to a planetside Guard regiment. If you make it a new chapter to this story, it could be the Commissar Griggs replaced taking Griggs' plave in the trenches. In any case, keep writing!
