Urgh, so it's taken me more than month, but you of all people would understand being busy. In any case, my sincere apologies, and simply amazing chapters. So, let's get down to business.

Haruka's arrival on the ship was reminiscent of what happened in Blood of the Rose. It was very nicely done, especially when I noticed that, because the parallels made it intriguing. It's also good to know the situation isn't bad as I feared. I was afraid it was some kind of manipulation by Beryl/Chaos, but if it was jut ambition, well, that means it can be cleared up easily and prepare for the real threat.

Wow. So the uprising is gone like that. but it was that widespread? The Uranians really are passionate women. I mean, it wasn't like they were trying to actually claim the seat, besides Kai - they just wanted to prove their worth or get sponsored. It's a great way to emphasize how important these things are to the Uranians, how passionate they are about them, and how little they give consideration for the dangers and chaos of war.

Setsuna arriving was a good thing, because it means that despite all their disagreements, as she told Michiru, she stands with them. In that sense, her description of Haruka's request was perfect, because Haruka understands that the Outer Senshi need to work together.

Haruka's plan was brilliant. Combining all their powers, and then having Serneity amplify it to force everybody to listen to her, thus reassuring them that their queen was there to impose order - perfection.

The Senshi helping Haruka get ready was a really nice scene. It was good to see some regular interaction, especially after the council and battle, and I liked how much they enjoyed dressing up Haruka. Setsuna giving Haruka the keystone and recognizing Nao was a powerful end to a little calmness.

The council scene was really nice. I enjoyed the formality, and Haruka's statement on how this is the maximum formality you might get. I have to ask, why are Hermes and Cronos 'child of the line of' while all other gods get appellations like 'light of/sword of/wilds of' etc?

The sponsorship was well done. I found it interesting that War Queens would be willing to sponsor those who attacked them, having seen their strength. And of course, Michiru sponsoring Miki was brilliant.

And of course, Miki rewarded her by making a just as brilliant choice, with excellent reasoning, convincing the others why Minako and Michiru were the best Senshi to fight against. Wonderful, and as Michiru notes, a true way for Haruka to enjoy herself while showing the others the beauty in the Uranian way.

Wait, what is the Duchess Council? There's the Council of the War Queens, and the Lesser War Queens, and the chiefs. What is this Duchess Council?

I loved the descriptions of the candidates, they were really interesting and engaging character, just by describing their ancestry, way of fighting and outer appearance. The fight itself was wonderful, with a wonderful display of tactics, styles and techniques by all. The part I loved best was Michiru entering a Blood rage, because it was so against her character (as noted by the fact that the seas calmed her), and such a mystery as to how she did it. I can't wait for them to figure it out.

Oh, that was amazing . Not just Miki saving Michiru, which was very nicely done, but Haruka's reveal that the battle wasn't done to test their skills, since they could never have won, but to reveal their inner selves (and to entertain Haruka and show Michiru the beauty in the Uranian way). Miki truly deserves her new position.

Setsuna parted from the Senshi amicably enough, and I enjoyed the discussion about whether ceremonies are needed as well (I believe the truth lies somewhere in the middle - they're needed by some, but the Uranians do not really need more than a fight), but Rei's words reminded us of a fundamental truth, that Setsuna, despite herself breaking these rules more than anyone, is still the upholder of these rules, and is forcing the Senshi to secrecy. In that sense, actually, Rei's words are extremely ironic - she speaks of Setusna truly joining them and abandoning her family, but she has already done so in loving Serenity and fathering Usagi. It is just that she has not admitted yet to this abandonment of the rules and that she shares the same passion with the Senshi.

And you immediately confirm that in a heartrendingly beautiful scene, where Setsuna admits her utter love, her true humanity to her true love Serenity. She has evolved beyond Tranquility and his cupids, who still cannot let go of Serenity. It was such a powerful scene, and I absolutely loved it, especially coming as it did after Rei's words. It is so perfect that Setsuna makes that promise to Serenity, and reassures her of her love, while confessing her regrets, and finally admitting she herself has become as Nao and Yuuka were, as Michiru and Haruka are, as indeed all the Senshi are.
There were also hints about Nao and Yuuka, of course, worrying hints. What did she show them? Why did they curse her? What did their daughters have to see? We'll be finding out soon, I'm sure. In any case, it comforts me to know that Setsuna had three timelines (this one, the one on Earth, and after their rebirth and the Black Moon Family) with their reincarnations to earn their forgiveness and love.

So, they know as much of the truth as they can without actually seeing it. That last scene was practically a teaser for the next chapter, and now I want to see it even more. I need to see that choice, the last sacrifice, Setsuna's regret, the breaking of the soul bonds of the Senshi.

Brilliant author's notes, and I love the parallels you mention and the great consideration you put into this, making it reflect both the past and the future. It gives each scene and interaction a lot more depth and meaning, and I absolutely love it. It's also good that you note this, because it means we understand each scene a lot better after the note, and see the things you intended when we reread. It wasn't until Kazeko talked to Shousha did I remember reading the original version of this story long ago. I have to say I've really enjoyed re-reading this story with the new writing style and take to it. Though I really don't remember much of the original, but parts here and there I do remember. Like the ending with Shousha and Kazeko (personal favorite part of the original and hopefully in this version of the story). That's all I'll say to avoid spoiling anything for your new readers who might be reading your other reviews and have't read the original.

I'm probably way too giddy over the SeraMyu references too!

Just gave myself a big DUH! The other anime reference from chapter 12 was from S! Episode 110, when Michiru "died" and Haruka realized she loved Michiru.

I immediately spotted the major SeraMyu reference. Ono Hikari. Is the minor SeraMyu reference Miki? Since she played a lot of the background characters in SeraMyu. I spazzed out when I saw the Ono Hikari reference, very good choice!

The special was Michiru's line, "A world without, you, Haruka, isn't one worth saving." Though I'm not sure on the episode reference, it was either with Helios or with Saturn. I'm not as familiar with SuperS as I am with the other seasons.

Sooooo I promised to re-review when I got home and on my account; and here I am. _ this story is by far one of my all time favorite Silver Millennium stories I have ever read. Mostly because you execute the personalities of everyone so perfectly. I also love the way you've figured out the histories and traditions of each planet. This story has literally left me breathless at times. So thank you, I can't wait for another update _

Ok so questions: What is this whole "King of the Moon" business? You mentioned something about that, but it hasn't shown back up. Something like a consort? But queens can't be together and that would be the only reason I can think of that Queen Serenity would have one. Probably, you're just going to explain it and it'll be some huuuuuge deal like Setsuna fathering Serenity/Usagi. That's just a guess though. Oo, is that why Serenity/Usagi is the new "Sailor Moonlight"/Sailor Moon/whatever the name is? Gosh, I'm just so excited. And what about Hotaru? I know they said she gets to live, but sometime in the next few months between now and the world ending she has to get her powers right? Or is it gunna be a "Stars" moment where BAM! she's Saturn and suddenly can use her powers with no previous training or warning at all?
