Atarah Derek 2008-09-22 . chapter 1Kinda reminds me of MASH's "Dreams" episode. The war interrupting their desires to be back home. Newkirk's scene reminded me especially of Charles' dream where he performed every trick he knew but still couldn't save the wounded man on the table before him. Colonel Hogan's dream reminded me of Colonel Potter's dream of his childhood. Carter's dream resembled Klinger's.
No parallels come to mind for LeBeau or Kinch. |
JacobedRose 2005-08-07 . chapter 1This is great, well written and well thought out with great insight into their characters and backgrounds. |
 Kathy F 2004-09-27 . chapter 1Very nice and original. I enjoyed it. |
AGroovie1 2004-09-20 . chapter 1A nice glimpse into the dreams of the boys. I can definitely relate to the reality crashing into their dreams in the morning. Very good! |
nom-de-plume13 2004-09-06 . chapter 1Again, thanks to everyone for the good reviews. No, I haven't read that particular Thoreau work... this one pretty much came from a melange of personal experiences and not nearly enough sleep. :)
To give credit where credit is due, the title and the story idea were inspired by LJ Groundwater's story "Perchance To Dream". |
Ace Lannigan 2004-09-01 . chapter 1Great one-shot. If you have ever read 'Civil Disobedience' by Thoreau it tells a similar tale. You can lock away a man's body but not his spirit or his dreams. Excellent work.
This reminds me, in some very small way, of the episode where they try and convince Klink that the war is over, or almost over. Shultz has a recollection of his days as a 'toymaker?' Sorry it has been a great many years since I saw the episode.
Once again a great story. |
zoey traner 2004-08-20 . chapter 1This was just lovely. The glimpses into their youth felt very real and nostalgic. Being a farmer, I especially enjoyed Andrew's time in the loft and found myself nodding, thinking that you had captured the feeling and descriptions beautifully. Also liked how you ended each dream sequence --very smooth transitions. Thank you for sharing it with us. |
ML Miller Breedlove 2004-08-19 . chapter 1It's the little details that said so much. They seemed to subtle to have been made up, too real! It's like you pulled each of these very different dreams from their "actual" experiences . I hope you will write more. Marty B |
longtallsally 2004-08-19 . chapter 1Ooh! This was awesome! I loved the glimpses into everybody's past. Wonderful description. I could see it all very clearly. |
L J Groundwater 2004-08-19 . chapter 1How lovely. When they get to get some actual sleep, it's of course going to be of home. Nice work. Thanks for sharing it.
