A very nice one-shot. I liked how you described how he got the job of Potions Master instead of DADA. I never thought of it that way.

You have good descriptions. Normally I don't have the patience to read fics that delve into Snape's mind, but this was short (thanks for that, by the way) and well written. It didn't get to mushy with the details. It felt as if he was actually thinking it out, logical and practical, how I always pictured him to be.
