It's a unique perspective, James narrating it to Harry instead of the more common set-in-Hogwarts ones.

Some die-hard fans may say that your portrayal of James as becoming a lot more modest and quiet and thoughtful seems too OOC (I myself prefer the wacky prank-playing girl-teasing but with a thoughtful side James :P) but it's kind of sweet. :)
