Don't worry you kept Emma and Steed completely in character.

At this stage of their relationship, they are indeed just flirting and/or bantering back and forth.

I see you showed feelings of both Emma and Steed via their thoughts to themselves. That's hard to do, at least for me, but you've kept a good balance between how much each has felt.

I think you hit the nail on the head in this third part. But I see two versions.

And I can't figure which I like more.

The second shows more frustration and inner feelings on Emma's part, but the first has more of the flirting between them.

Perhaps the two versions can be combined somehow.

All in all, I like it, and I think you're doing a very good job.

Sorry it's taken me so long to post any comments since chapter one. Chapter two is a nice tease for us (and for Steed). I loved reading his "it was my dream after all". Reminds us of Too Many Christmas Trees. Chapter three is great fun. Seeing the events from the individual perspectives, reading their minds in a way, is a very neat trick. Looking forward to more!

This is a show I've loved since I was wee, and the flirtation between John and Emma always was a joy to watch. Reading your delightful story is like watching a dream episode, and I can't wait to see how it ends!

You're managing to keep us quite nicely teased with your latest chapter!

The use of the dual perspectives is quite interesting. The reader becomes aware that Steed and Emma have the same desires for one another...but THEY are not yet aware of this.

You are staying true to the characters--your situations and dialogue seem quite authentic, and your pacing is good. Take your time getting them together--just make sure they DO in the end! And I know that you will...

Hi! I got a DVD collection of The Avengers for my birthday, and as soon as I watched it I knew I wanted to see Steed and Mrs Peel act on the obvious chemistry between them! This story is great, I really hope you're continuing it! Don't be discouraged by lack of reviews, it's a very good story, no matter what other people think! Please update soon!
