Anyway, I just started re-watching YGO, so I'm sort of putting my foot back in the waters of the fandom. I totally recently watched this episode, and I have to say, I completely agree with you. Could the Pharoah have gotten any more self-righteous and patronizing? "You'll never be a success until you defeat the monsters in your heart!" Wow. Just wow. He does have some rather cruel, stinging--even penetrating barbs. He wants our dear Kaiba to be his subject.

Anyway--liked it five years ago, like it now. Damn, I may have to write a one-shot on this subject.

I agree that it's nice to see someone actually keep to the spirit of the series. I think it was very good because it is just the kind of thing you imagine Seto to think. I would like to see you try one of these with another character.

Anyway, back to the review.
The emotions, and view, in my opinion were pulled off very well. It is interesting to see someone put Yami back into an almost evil-sided state as he was at the very beginning of the manga. And last and maybe least :P methinks I felt along the same lines when I whatched that episode (I am getting much more interested in anything surrounding the Kaiba brothers, and feel half sick of the "destiny" storyline anyway...)
Sorry for the rambling! All in all, I loved this fic and I hope I'll find something like it again soon!
