This was one of the most excellent one-shots I've read, ever. You truly have a way with words, and this story is definitely going on my favourites (mind you, I don't have a lot). I can't explain how I felt when I read this! It really does seem like Sesshoumaru, I thought when I first opened this, it'd be like "Sesshoumaru loved Kagura..." or something. But it's not. There's not even the slightest hint of OCC, something I'm obsessed with fics about. A truly magnificent work ;)
Haruyuki 2004-09-09 ch 1,	abuseIts been a while since I've looked at your fics...and I've likely forgotten how much I liked the mood you seem to set up for every one of them. Sesshomaru was perfectly in character, as usual. Yes, one does see a lot of manga-based fanfics with the Sess/Kagura pairing. I, for one, agree with what you did here in that those two really haven't had enough character development as to be at that point. This is believeable, yet still heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Grr...I recovered from post-374 depression not a week ago, and here it begins to set in again... ^_^ Off to reread "A Way to Survive"...

XD for once (or twice), it isn't a really mushy...'thing'. this is going on my fav's list.

Cause you wrote I have seen a whole hord of Kagura's POV shorts on her death but I have yet to see a Sesshomaru one. Does this mean from his point of view?Or does he die to?Please say it isn't so! Red XIV 2004-09-02 ch 1,	abuseTenseiga didn't work because it can't heal the wounded. It can only revive those who are already dead. Kagura wasn't dead yet. And once she died, her body was gone. Tenseiga also needs a body to revive someone.
drake220 2004-09-01 ch 1,	abusevery nice! lord, i cried when i read chp 374 and i have to say, i really really liked this. the simplicity of the writing really went straight for how sess thinks- methodically with no frills. the end was a little melodramatic but suited sess also. paying back debts to kagura even if she's dead is the honorable way to do things after all. i liked it a lot

Khepri 2004-09-01 ch 1,	abuseYes, yes, yes, yes, yes! This is exactly what Sesshoumaru was feeling. Congratulations for putting it so perfectly into words. And he is going to be the one to kill Naraku. The series might be named after his half-brother, but now Sesshoumaru has all the reason. (Naraku kidnapped Rin, tried to absorb him, and then killed the one person he could have had a relationship with.) I'm still confused with why Tenseiga refused to work for him, but you did a good job of capturing Sesshoumaru's character in this.
