I must saw that of all the characters I've read so far, you do write Betts most naturally - but I guess that figures. I thought her responses in this piece were very natural - not just for her, but also for any woman out there. My heart really did reach out when she asked warren whether he still thought she was beautiful. I think any gal would feel the same thing. I also liked the reference to Beowulf/Grendel - the images that conjures up of holding on fierecely were very appropriate, but also balanced by the imagery of the wings enfolding her.

Ah, very nice. I always thought Betsy & Warren made a nice couple (even though those writer-dorks at Marvel broke them up). Betsy's character's been through so many transformations, and most writers haven't paid much attention to the emotional impact it must have had on her. You show a Betsy who's feeling understandably lost and uncertain after the Crimson Dawn. Good job!
