Good story. You were able to balance Demona's intense hatred of humankind with her little-seen softer side very well.

I really like stories like this, where Demona isn't as evil as she is sometimes portrayed. I look forward (if possible) a sequel or continuation of this.

This is a nice little snipit of what could prove to be an interesting series, or perrhaps a small piece of a larger story.

As a stand alone work I fell that it lacks enough detail to really bring the reader in. Perhaps even a short addition at the beginning regarding just how ingrained this hatred for the species is would help bring the reader to a greater appreciation of the line that is crossed when boy is adopted.

There have been different variations of Demona finding a human baby the one that comes to mind is Princess Alexandria's "Alone" storyline http://w.fanfiction.net/u/182776/. This has potential. Imagine the clan finding out about the baby.
