"If you don't get off your ** and dance with me I'm going to go over and ask him to dance," she told him without blinking an eye.

Hilarious! Too funny! Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

i enjoyed this little story a lot. Good job on having sam woried about sara and jack. I have to admit (though i am a sam and jack fan very much) that there for a while I had wondered if the writers of the show were going to put jack back with sara.

I think it really sucks the way Jack plays with Sam's emotions and "smirks" when he thinks he's done something terribly clever to confuse her. That's totally rotten and mean, and if I didn't want them to be together, I wish she'd dump him and find somebody who treats her like the royalty she deserves to be treated - and he can be her footman and grovel at her feet! :-)

Well, I have to say on reading some of the reviews, that some of your readers really hate Sam; that's the only way to describe it. As far as I'm concerned, Jack hurt Sam dreadfully by pushing her away from him and telling her to get a life, which she tried to do, only to realize that Pete wasn't the right person for her. Really the blame for them not being together lies squarely on both of them - for not being honest with each other from the very first - even though because of the regs they couldn't be together. Blaming Sam for trying to move on with her life and making a poor choice does not make her a poor choice for Jack. The same could be said that Jack is an even poorer choice for Sam by not telling her of his feelings. Works both ways, you know. Jack never made any specific statement nor did he make any overt action to let Sam know what he felt for her, so what was she supposed to do - be a mind reader - with a mind as closed as Jack's is all the time?

Frankly, I'm completely fed up with so many authors blaming Sam for her and Jack not being together, and how much SHE hurt HIM by being with Pete. There were way more than plenty opportunities along the way for Jack to let Sam know how he felt about her, but he just had to keep it to himself and just keep pushing her away. Is it any wonder she felt like he didn't care about her? Especially after he told her (not very nicely, I might add) to get a life! He was just as responsible as she was (if not more so) for them not being together), and I'd really like to read some stories about him "groveling" at her feet (so to speak) and letting her know what kind of total screw-up he had been for not letting her know about his feelings for her.

Her desperate attempt at normalcy with Pete had failed miserably, and worse yet seemed to have driven a wedge between her and the General

* * * glad to see Sam finally taking some responsibility for what she'd done.

- - - - - -

Surprisingly, her relationship with Pete hadn't prevented her from doing any of that, but thinking Jack was in a relationship stopped it dead

* * * unfortunately another sign of a bad character, namely a serious lack of commitment and devotion to her partner.

while I like your fics I have some big issues with a few points that are consistently repeating in all of them.

you tend to write Sam as the victim, the only victim, namely like she's completely in love and Jack is the one that breaks her heart when he tries to move on... even though she's with Shanahan and has broken Jack's heart first, like with that callous and hurtful way she told him of her affair ("It's nothing serious, sir") and the way she told him of the proposal. And when in your fics she breaks up with the aforementioned Stalker-boy she's still looking like a victim even though her disastrous love life is her fault and responsibility alone.

Like the sentence: She was depressed over her love-life that had totally fallen apart... as if that was none of her fault. But it was.

Had she not left Jack behind, especially in such a hurtful way, she wouldn't have been dumped by her latest boytoy (cause that boytoy wouldn't even exist) and there would've been no reason to think that Jack himself had moved on (btw., she had no right to be jealous and hurt by that since she made the decision to move on for both of them without Jack's input) cause Jack wouldn't have had any other choice but to move on himself.

Sam ignores the rule: the goal doesn't justify the means. Meaning, that the fact that she wanted a normal life (as if she's even capable of that), or more accurately said sex, doesn't justify hurting Jack and throwing him away so much as garbage.

Which is also one of the reasons why in my opinion the Sam that we got with Chimera and the post-Chimera Sam doesn't deserve Jack and he would've been better off had he moved on with someone else, someone who deserves him and someone who hasn't hurt him so much in her own selfish-hormonal pursuit of sex. Someone who hasn't been stringing him along for years and them dumped him for a younger, non-scarred model when she got the chance. Jack deserves so much better than such a witch.

The sad thing and the one that shows a very bad character for Sam is that she hooked up with Shanahan just for sex and for nothing more. What a great reason for breaking a good man's heart, isn't it?

You're a good writer, but unfortunately you are also one of the writers that tend to ignore the fact that Jack was the only one hurt in this whole affair and not Sam and especially not Shanahan. You also tend to write Sam as a victim and like she still loves Jack even though we even received proof to otherwise.

Now I'm a SJ shipper, but have to admit that I haven't seen real feelings (possessiveness and jealousy do NOT mean love) from Sam in a long time.

Please think it through, you're a great writer and I would love to read more from you, just with you considering both sides not just Sam's.

Aw...that was so lovely! The whole thing, really. Not only was it written well, your characterizations were spot-on, the plot and storyline was well thought-out, and it was just a damn good / interesting read. I'm glad I stumbled across this story. Everything was perfect :)

Reading your fic put a huge smile on my face :) For me it has just the right amount of angst and romance, and you totally pulled off the difficult "How do I get them together at the end" dilemma.

I think my favourite moment has to be the reference to the replicating paperwork on Jack's desk.

I liked this story very much! Good ending--but also I don't like Pete much either! Good ridance to him!
I also liked how things evolved with Sam and Jack at the wedding...Sara realized some things too.
