The lynx was Miyu and you have grammatical errors in this one to. The words are spelled right there just the wrong tense and context.
Rose Unspindle 10/10/06 . chapter 1
You had some grammatical errors so I corrected them. (The editor in me is a frightening creature.) Here are correct terms of address for royalty in order of importance.

King - His majesty, your majesty

Queen - Her majesty, your majesty

Crown Prince(the one that will inherit the throne)- His royal highness Crown Prince _

Prince - His highness, Your higness

Princess - Her higness, Your higness

Prince Toboe sighed softly as he looked over at his mother and father.

Queen Cheza, born a commoner, merely smiled at her son while King

Kiba glanced the other way. Their son was coming of age soon, the age

of marriage.

He merely pouted at them, his golden-brown eyes giving them a half

glare. He was a very...beautiful young man. So beautiful in fact, that

everyone, with the exception of his parents and a few other people,

thought that he was a princess instead of a prince. The boy was cursed

with the lovely looks of a woman. Neither the King nor Queen bothered

to correct anyone who mistook the prince; instead they encouraged it

since they didn't want their son to marry that awful princess to the

west.

Toboe looked over at the other people who were present at the table.

There was his cousin, Prince Hige and his fiancé Princess Blue, his

nurse/tutor/aunt Cher and her husband, Hubb who was head of the

royal guard, Blue's father King Quent, and finally there was Toboe's

husband-to-be, Prince Darcia.

Darcia seemed like a nice man, though he was Kiba's age if a bit older.

Even though age wasn't supposed to matter, it did to Toboe; he didn't

want to marry someone who was older than his father, if Darcia wasn't

as old or even younger, than that would've been much better.

Hige hid a smirk aimed at his younger cousin knowing exactly what

the other was thinking. He used to think the same way. Why marry a

woman who was more than two years older than you? At least that's

what Hige used to say before he met Blue. She was a good five years

older than him and he didn't seem to mind at all. Even though being

with her meant she'd had to break off her engagement to King Orkham

which led to a war between Hige's kingdom and Orkham's, the man

didn't care, as long as he was with Blue. Hige had always been a bit of a

romantic.

"What does the Princess enjoy doing in her free time?" Darcia then

asked Toboe, iterupting his thoughts.

He blinked at him, before lowering his long lashes and looking over at

Darcia, "I enjoy reading, very much so." He answered and it was the

truth. Reading got him away from the palace; it took him to other

places. Places where dragons slept, mermaids swam or where fairies

had their dances. Anywhere but the palace.

"Indeed?" Darcia asked, a bit surprised. Not many princess's read. Most

thought that reading was below them.

"The Princess has her own library here in the palace." Hige stated,

entering the conversation. He gave Toboe an amused look, which his

cousin returned with a scornful one.

"She does?" Dracia asked, extremely interested now. Though before he

could say anything, one of his servants walked up to him and

whispered something in his ear. The prince looked over at the servant

when he was done speaking before looking back at the other royals, "I

would like to see it. However, I'm afraid that it will have to wait until

next time for I must be going."

"So soon?" Kiba asked.

Darcia nodded, "unfortunately."

"I'll see you off." Kiba said, standing up.

"As will I." Hige nodded, standing up too.

"Very well then. This dinner has been very pleasant. I hope there will

be many others in the near future." He gave everyone a nod goodbye

and gave Toboe a rare smile, for the prince never smiled. And it made

Toboe blush.

Once Darcia, Kiba, and Hige left the room Cheza looked over at her

son, "prince Darcia is a good man. He will be a perfect husband for you

and a wonderful king for this kingdom."

"It does seem too good to be true," said Cher nodding, in agreement

with her sister.

"Too good indeed," Hubb mumbled into his drink.

Blue stayed silent, chewing on her food.

"I don't think its right to force the poor boy into anything." Quent told

the Queen before taking a sip of his wine.

Toboe looked over at Quent, and the old man winked at him making

the young boy smile. Quent was always on Toboe's side.

"Sixteen is too young to marry in my opinion." Blue suddenly said,

"even if it is mandatory for a girl to be betrothed at that age, the fact

is that they're still children. Also, Toboe is a boy."

Cheza frowned at Blue, though said nothing as some servants came

into the room, taking away the dinner plates and putting down the

dessert.

As soon as they left the queen decided to say her piece, "would you

rather have Toboe married to Jagara in the west?"

Blue only sighed, "no; but this is taking away his boyhood, he won't be

able to be a king. Do you understand that? What happens when he does

marry and that man finds out that his bride isn't a bride at all?"

The room was silent for a moment, the voices of Hige and Kiba could

be heard from down the hallway.

"Perhaps we should put this topic at rest, huh? Let's speak of a lighter

subject." Hubb suggested.

"Indeed." Quent agreed.

Just then Kiba and Hige re-entered the room.

"That Darcia is a good man." Hige smiled as he sat back down, ignoring

the fact that his half-eaten dinner was replaced with sweets.

"Oh?" Blue asked him.

Hige nodded, "it turns out that he's also at war with Orkham, and he

agreed to have an alliance with our kingdom and take that old codfish

down."

"It'll be wonderful to get rid of that pest Orkham." Cheza smiled.

Kiba nodded, "and having Darcia as an aly can only help our kingdoms.

He's a powerful man and having him as an aly is a good thing."

Toboe sat quietly, listening about his fiancé. About how 'great' and

'powerful' and 'good of a guy' this Darcia was. He listened until he could

stand it no more and excused himself from the table, weaving the lie

that he felt ill.

He took in a deep breath of relief once he was out in the hallway and

began making his way towards the library.

Toboe yawned a bit before finishing the fifth chapter. It was well passed

midnight and the prince was tired. He stretched a bit before sitting

back down on the large blue chair that was in the library, the one that

sat all the way in the back corner, near the window.

He took in a deep breath before he began to read again, telling himself

that he'd go to bed once he finished with the sixth chapter.

Golden-brown eyes narrowed as it watched the palace lights slowly go

out. It was almost time.

The owner of the eyes looked behind him, searching the group of

bandits that were all hidden somewhere in the darkness, there were

only a few of them, but all did their job well.

"Is it almost time Tsume?" A girl with long stringy black hair and skin

as bronze as Tsume's own asked.

The man named Tsume nodded, "tell the group to get ready Laura."

Laura smiled at her boss before turning around and running off into

the night.

Tsume smirked as he looked back over at the palace. Their plan was

perfect, steal some rare items or two, knock out some palace guards in

the process and have a good ol' fun time with it all. For him and his

group it was a game. Though this was their first big job, the rules were

the same for if it was just like all of the others. Don't get caught.

"Its too bad that we can't see that princess. I heard she was quite the

looker." Cole, another one in Tsume's group stated, seeming to come

out of nowhere.

Tsume cocked an eyebrow at the woman, "last time I checked you're

taken...and into men."

Cole gave Tsume a breath-taking smile, "I just want to check out the

competition."

Tsume's smirk expanded. "Well, if we run into the wench, we'll see."

'All was quiet in the house. Not a creature was stirring. Not even a

mouse.' Toboe thought while feeling his way through the dark hallways.

"Talk about a lax security." He snorted silently. He shivered as he

passed yet another hallway of empty armored suits. It felt as if they

were staring at him with dead eyes.

"I wonder where the guards are." He wondered allowed. Stopping at an

arc window and stared at the heavy full moon, it illuminated the room,

making Toboe look like an angel.

He sighed and put a hand the stained glass. Watching the clouds move

before looking down at the ground below.

He blinked and looked back down at the ground. "Did something down

there just move?" he asked himself before shaking his head. "I must be

too tired."

Tsume watched the woman that was in the window. It was amazing

that she was visible through the stained glass. Laura looked over at

Tsume before looking up at what she saw and gasped at the sight,

"that's the princess."

Cole ran up to the two of them, "lets go, there's not point in standing

here like morons gawking at her royal highness."

"I think Cole's jealous." Laura grinned. Tsume merely smirked and ran

in after her.

He looked around the corner, "where's the security here?" he asked.

"Its like they're begging to get robbed."

Laura nodded, "lets scope the rooms and get going. The guards may be

here...even if we don't see them."

Tsume agreed, you never knew who was where in a palace.

Toboe went silent. Did something just fall off of the wall at the foot of

the stairs? He's breathing lowered as he (as quietly as possible) headed

for the noise. It's funny that people tend to do that, they go towards

the trouble, human instinct.

He watched from the top of the staircase as a man took a coat of arms

from the wall, and then run off towards the library.

The sixteen-year-olds eyes widened as he thought of his books and

what that man might do to them. He practically flew down the stairs

and down the hallway after the man. Whoever was in front of him had a

nice, lithe, body and he sure could run.

'But I guess that's to be expected from a thief.' the prince thought,

'but...who has enough guts, and who's insane enough, to break into a

palace?'

He merely shook his head, getting rid of those pesky thoughts before

running even faster.

Tsume looked around in awe at the library. Who knew royalty were

readers? He figured they thought they were too high and mighty and

put their noses up at the thought of having to read. Why read when

you can dictate? The beautiful, large, library had proved him wrong.

Though it was't the first time that Tsume was proved wrong.

He froze as he heard the door to the room open, then hid behind a

book shelf. 'Who the hell is up this damn late? Shouldn't they be

getting their damn beauty sleep?'

He sniffed the air lightly and caught the smell of a females perfume. A

very expensive, and wonderful smelling, perfume at that.

"I know you're in here. And I'm going to tell you that I'm not going to

allow you to get away with stealing!" the voice was a bit high pitched,

like a little girls, though it had some sort of sensual appeal to the man.

Tsume groaned internally, the last thing he wanted was to be jailed for

hitting on a ten-year-old. He looked over a row of books and forgot to

breath as he saw the princess standing in the middle of the room, a

sword in hand and the moon glistening on her. He'd been right, she did

look like an angel.

"I'm not gonna steal your books, if thats what you're worried 'bout." He

found his mouth saying before he was able to stop himself. Though he

felt glad that he did, because the princess visibly relaxed at the

thought.

"Why are you stealing from the palace?" she then asked, walking up

towards where she heard Tsume's voice.

He cocked an eyebrow at her, was she unafraid? Either the girl had

guts, or she was crazy. It didn't matter though, to Tsume she'd be

attracted either anyway.

Toboe looked through the row of books and right at a muscular bronze

chest, that made his mouth go dry. He swallowed what little saliva that

he had in his mouth before stepping on his tip-toes and looking right

into the eyes of the theif. The hard golden-brown eyes looked right

back.

The prince smiled, "its a crime to steal from royalty you know. The

penalty is to be hanged."

The man blinked, "are you going to turn me in princess?"

Toboe shook his head, "no. We have too much junk as it is. However,

you have to do me a favor."

The man raised an eyebrow at him, though Toboe continued to smile,

"take me with you."

"No."

It was a flat out answer, and that was something the prince wasn't used

to. He pouted at the stranger, not knowing why he wanted to go with

him so much. Something about the man allured him.

"Then I'll call the guard that's down the hall." he fibbed. Toying with

his hair idly.

The man's eyes narrowed, "there is no guard in the hallway. At least

not in this one."

The prince once again smiled, "so you think. But you do know what

they say about assuming. Hm?"

There was an inarticulate growl as an answer this time and Toboe

grinned, "I knew you would see it my way. After all, there is a code

amoungst theives, is there not?"

Then man nodded.

"So...why don't we introduce ourselves properly, hm?"

Tsume glared at the princess, he didn't need some prissy, complaining,

little girl with him. It was hard enough taking care of the gang and

himself, he didn't need to baby anyone in the process, but he chose to

obey the girl and against his better judgment stepped out from his

hidding place.

He gave the princess a mocking bow, which she returned with her own.

She had a sense of humor he'd give her that much, but that woudn't

help her survive.

"Well Mister Thief, it's pleasure to meet you. My name is Toboe." she

put out her hand so that she could shake his.

"My name ain't 'Mister Thief'. People call me Tsume." he put his hand

out and shook hers, and was quite surprised when he noticed that she

had a strong grip.

Once their hands sepreated, the door to the room opened once again,

this time showing a guard.

"Oh crap." Tsume moaned before taking the princess's hand hand

running towards the window.

"Its a two story drop!" Toboe yelled before Tsume picked her up and

leaped into what seemed like an abyss.

"THE PRINCESS HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED! THE PRINCESS HAS BEEN

KIDNAPPED!" They heard people screaming from the window above

them.

Toboe threw his head back and laughed as Tsume ran with him into the

woods.

Finally! He was able to have his own adventure!

I really liked it! hehehe
Shinkaishi 10/26/05 . chapter 11
I know, I am pretty late for a review, but anyway...

I really liked the story. :)

It was comical when it came to Toboes complexion, imaginative by rearanging character backgrounds and relationship and the chapters concerning the war did really well transport the atmosphere and the tension.

And the different aspects where well balanced out.

Even though some of tthe latter chapters were quite short, I really liked to read them very much and thus as one of your (not regularly reviewing) readers want to thank and congratulate you.

I hope you write another Wolf's Rain fanfiction someday (Perhaps a sequell? :)) and I am really looking forward to another story.

The good ending, that is. You're probably really lost great amount of inspiration to the end.

But anyway, in whole it was an amazing story. I just wished there would be some romantic stuff in the end.

If you manage to get back the inspiration, please, write a sequel:)
