abuseWow, I haven't revisited the Golden Sun fandom for a while... Thought it would be good to read one of your fics.

Nice choice of a name, Solomon Graves. People don't usually get that good with symbolism while making it sound realistic. I totally thought the Spirit-Hawk was pretty much a ship towards death, and thus everyone would be forever young. I'm unconvinced that I'm right although the ending seems to imply it, but that's alright. I've never read Archie before, so I don't actually know anything about the Spirit-Hawk.

I really enjoyed the matter-of-fact way this story was told. It was just a normal day in the aftermath of Golden Sun, with Picard having his doubts and fears but not grandiloquently. It was just there, driving the story in an entirely believable way. In fact, the only thing I didn't find believable was the contrast between Mephi and Mia completely disregarding Picard at the beginning and them acting like angles towards Picard at the end, with everything else going right too. It was a nice conclusion to the story though, wrapping everything up neatly and showing us why Picard still appreciates life despite its mortal trappings. I like.

abuse... Wow... You've made me feel very sad for Picard... then happy... then kind of inbetween. That's new. O_o;

This came from an Archie comic, you say? It seems like it was made just for Picard and Golden Sun... And even if the ideas aren't completely your own, it's a lovely adaptation. It was kind of you to write this at all, actually...

Anyway. Most fics of this type -- dealing with Piers' eternal life -- do not talk about how he might be if he DID age. And now that yours does, I do get the feeling that Picard might feel very regretful indeed, and wish for his youthfulness again. Of course, it all goes back to the main idea that youthfulness isn't the only thing that matters in life, but the way you go about it is very interesting and skillfully handled indeed.

*pause* ... Boy... I really want to read that comic now. ;_;

abuseThe OBHL in me is feeling torn. I'm happy to read such a nice Picard-centric story, but I'm not sure what to make of you turning my handsome Lemurian into a paunchy, balding old man! [Cries]

All joking aside, I really enjoyed this. I haven't read the comic you based this on, but I'd have to call this a successful adaptation because it was so fun to read. ^^ And it gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling at the end without being overkill: "Love helps." Indeed!
