When I was little, I remember watching "the soaps" with my mother. I think we were watching "As the World Turns" and someone had been murdered in his office, and had fallen behind his desk. For 4 days days (!)-about 15 minutes in soap time- people kept coming into the office, talking about this and that, putting paperwork on his desk, and wondering where he was. Who knows, his wife probably had a tryst with her lover there too.
Anyway, ever since then, I have seen the soaps in much the same light as you must! LOL!
