NoNameZOMG 9/26/10 . chapter 1Where did you learn about how old Kakashi was when he was a genin? I'd LOVE to tell that to people xD
Kakashi rocks. |
 NoNameZOMG 9/11/10 . chapter 2Whoa. Awesome :p
I just love Kakashi.
It's a shame they're making him so much less of a badass in Shipuuden D: |
Sulix 8/3/10 . chapter 2I think your Kakashi is as OOC as it an get... Not because you dish out psyco giberish(sp?) does it means you are right. It's true he has a ton of those syndroms and is nowhere near mentaly stable, but if you write a profile in psycological terms you need to use a psycological, neutral and medical outlook, this is just your take (wrong to begin with) on a character with way more depth than you attribute it and way less petty and idiotic.
And just becuse I can... What efect does being a genius has on everything you wrote? If you knew anything about psycology you would know that being a genius changes everuthing. |
the TumTum tree 5/16/10 . chapter 2This is an amazing study of Kakashi's character. I'm very impressed by how spot on you were in your first analysis of him even though you didn't have a lot of the information about his past. If I want to write him into a fanfic I will definitely be using this as a point of reference.
I have to wonder though, whether Kishi had thought of all this when he was designing the character. When you compare Kakashi with a lot of the other characters with troubled pasts, he just doesn't seem half so messy or obvious. Then again he's not a teenager and teenagers are messy and obvious. Plus they're not fully formed yet so they go through dramatic changes. I wonder if Kishi will continue to develop Kakashi or whether he will remain a side character...? |
 vcv 2/25/10 . chapter 1 xc |
JYue 1/15/10 . chapter 2Well, that was nice. As a psychology student, I really liked the profile you made. It's nice that you're helping other writers to keep Kakashi IC. I'm with you there about disliking drunk Kakashi or ultra kinky Kakashi and other aberrations of fanficton.
It is kind of hard to infer what goes through his mind when writing about him, I know, I've been there. But that doesn't give people the right to just mess around with the character.
So, I just wanted to let you know I liked this. Pay no mind to my review :) |
Lostoverlord 11/1/09 . chapter 2I actually find this quite intreging, you've obviously done your homework on Kakashi. |
naruto fan 7/14/09 . chapter 1 kakashi got his sharingan from his best friend Obito. Obito gave it to him because Kakashi got his left eye BLINDED because he rescuded his best friend from death.
Obito and Kakashi went to rescue their girl teammate Rin, who got captured.
How can you say he was lazy or uncaring? He cried so much when Obito died!
the enemies killed him, not Kakashi.
And the reason he uses his Sharingan to copy so many techniques, is so that he could rule as many as jutsus as possible, so he will be able to protect his friends!
When Obito died, it's not that Kakashi couldn't protect him BETTER, he couldn't protect him, period!
Kakashi keep saving everyone! I remember two times when Naruto was a mess, seeking for answers badly - and Kakashi was the one tocalm him down. He helped this way to Sasuke, when he tried to tell him not to revenge, he cares! and he told Sasuke the chidori is not for revenge or against friends, it's to protect them! He said he taught him the Chidori BECAUSE he gained important friends!
Dont talk about things you dont know about. |
KoiGirlPGSM 1/14/08 . chapter 2very deep. makes one think |
hermithole 1/7/08 . chapter 2I like this article, and think you have given us great insight into Kakashi's personality.
Though, I don't find this really accurate:
"Sakumo's suicide was ultimately a selfish act, leaving behind a young son to fend for himself." I think that's purely subjective. In the modern context, parental suicide is considered irresponsible and selfish, but like you've said, it happened in an age where seppuku was regarded as something honorable to attenuate shame. Based on my understanding of Japanese, and Asian culture in general, the idea of honour/clan/family name plays an important role in determining what's right and wrong, some of which, if taken in the modern context, would be considered irrational and bizarre. So, if we were to look at Sakumo's suicide during that period of time, it isn't so much as a 'selfish' act as it was 'necessary' and 'obligatory of the time and mindset'. Also, one might deduce that if Sakumo had lived the embarrassment and shame brought to the clan might be more tramautising to Kakashi. I guess, in that sense, Kakashi was torn between his opinion of his father and wanting to hate him, and what he did in the first place, as well as bearing the responsibility for being the son of the Hatake clan (the one who is always expected to bear full responsibility) and ultimately, craving for a fatherly figure in his life.
... I don't think I've said this very much, but that's about what I mean. This is a great essay though, and I only wish there were more. Thank you for sharing! :D |
bones-angel 1/2/08 . chapter 2lovely... been waiting for some sort of guideline for Kakashi, but I think this is so far the best! _ |
Yunique 12/30/07 . chapter 1 This is definately original. :P I love it. xD |
BlackRoseTD 12/26/07 . chapter 2 Wow. Very informative and well thought out. Can't say that I agree with alot of it but it does make you think. |
rapid-apathy 12/24/07 . chapter 1Interesting. I agree with a lot of your theories, especially about keeping people away and needing a sense of control. |
Wisty 7/21/06 . chapter 2 In the first article, your inference about Kahakshi's sharigan is incorrect. During the "Kakashi Gaiden" arc in the anime as well as the japanese manga versions,it clearly states that Obito's left side of his body was completely crushed. They could not save him,but as a parting gift Obito requested that Rin remove his remaining right shrigan eye and give it to Kakashi because earlier in the mission Kakashi lost his right eye. |
