i loved this story. it took me forever to read it and when i got the end i was like thats it? are you going to write a side story that will go with it or something? it would be intresting to see how the poor daughter turns out. that poor child. i really loved the little mini stories about evny as a human. i just about cried when you told the paper crane story. in whole it was a really well written peice and i can't wait to read more of your work in the future.

I'm rather sad to see this end, though perhaps my professors are. I chose reading this over studying for exams a couple of times. I love, love the characterization you have going on here. And the bit of humor in a serious fic that you have is something I admire. I've always wanted to be able to write a serious fic that can still put a smile on someone's face once in a while but haven't been able to do that yet.

You mentioned that the ending was a sort of cliffhanger, but I have to disagree. I think it fits in real nicely with the rest of the story. Good job.

Yay for mpreg, but poor Envy-chan. I sometimes find it weird to read my favorite character pregnat. Oh well, it was a really good fic... XD

Okay, I don't review often. Every time I try, I end up second guessing myself, and cutting out quite a bit because I'm not sure I really know what I'm talking about, and cutting out unnecessary things that really aren't important, and eventually giving up. But I feel compelled to add my input to the...nearly seven-hundred reviews here, simply because yeah, it was that good.

That was the perfect place to end it. I saw a review telling you to continue writing, but honestly, this ending was perfect. It is a cliff-hanger, but it feels complete.

Anyway, the thing that jumps out at me the most about this is the character development. Your understanding of them is beyond impressive. As this drives most stories, I am pleased to find that I could not imagine it any other way. Your style is also very...relevant to the characterization. I mean, it shows things through a point of view that relates to the characters, but it has a Full Metal feel to it. As in, it can go from serious and tense to a much more light-hearted tone without sounding awkward or just generally bad. Of course, I'm not giving you enough credit by comparing it to something else. It's an original style. I especially like the use of parentheses! They add to the feel for the thoughts of the characters.

I loved the crane story. I also loved the part where you mentioned Ed didn't exactly have very many model dads around him. I couldn't help but picture him taking Shou Tucker as a role-model in this, and I really shouldn't have laughed, but...

The only thing I'm very much curious about, really, is the title. At first, I assumed it refers to the irony in Envy's plight. But it was right around one line referencing Persephone's traitorous fruit that I thought it might have more to do with the humors, the four temperaments. It made me think of black bile; the melancholic personality associated with it reminds me of this fic.

Of course, I could just be reading too much into things.

However, I'd say you have a talent. (It seems ridiculous to point this out, as so many others already have.) One of if not the best fanfic I have ever read. The amount of thought put into it is amazing.

And you've left some clues that say you've seen the FMA OVA "Reflections". I liked the way you encorporated the elements from that into this story =]
