I have had an odd obsession with the movie Thumbelina from the age of four, though I cannot seem to rationalize it. I'm not quite that into fanfiction, but after recently watching the movie, my curiousity forced me to search for one. It seemed vaguely familiar, I believe I read it a while ago, but it wasn't finished then. I must say, I was completely amazed. Your writing style continued to amaze me. Even if yours happens to be the only Thumbelina fanfiction, it definitely is worthy of its title. Please keep writing, it would not suprise me in the least to hear one of your writings were published! Down with Drama

It is so refreshing to know that there is someone of talent to write a sequel to a good fairytale/movie classic who doesn't suck exponentially. Many makers of sequels-the real released animated sequels as well-forget the aspect of art when they do this and just spurt out a 2nd movie without any consideration to it's format. Not you. I am so glad that a good writer decided to do this and did it so well. Good for you. Wow. You see, I usually watch a movie while I fall asleep and Thumbelina was one of my absolute childhood favorites and has been my sleep-movie for the past...I dunno, week or so? I was curious to see if anyone wrote something for it and was prepared to go all out if it were sh.it and to my pleasant surprise this was very good. I take french, actually and as far as I could tell your conjugations were spot on. I adored the way you got so into the personification and just went all out with the diverse accents. You had french, Spanish, brit, and all of the different personalities of the characters-you just really went to town with it. That takes talent, my friend. Because you pulled them all off so flawlessly. I am so pleased with this. Really, I am. I like this sequel and think it fits well with it's original counterpart. You stay true to the original and add nice zestiness to it. Granted, the first was made a while ago making much of the dialogue watered down and old-fashioned, and Thumbelina was pretty MarySue-ish but I like how you made her not so helpless. YET, still in character. You are the man. Wo-man. I'm not sure, I haven't read your profile yet. I couldn't see any spelling/grammar mistakes and your format was good. I just can't give you much aiding advice seeing as how this story was just a merry and fun time to read. Keep writing, you obviously have a knack for it. -Hemlock27
Tonyboy 2007-05-07 ch 10,	abuseHey! I just read the whole thing last night, and I must say I LOVED IT! In fact, I loved it so much that I think you should rewrite this as a movie script, send it in to Don Bluth, and try to convince him to make this movie, and try to get at least most of the original actors back. That's how much I loved it. You said at the beginning that you meant to have one of the characters out of character. I assume you meant Grundel, because he kinda did strike me as being out of character. I couldn't really see him acting like...how do I describe his behavior...a mentor? His behavior just kind of reminded me of someone who would act like a guide and teacher, and I just can't see Grundel acting like that. It's one thing that he wasn't the villian anymore, but...I'm sorry, but I would just have to see it to believe it. It's just that he was a little more boisterous and outgoing in the movie, and in this one he struck me as someone who was wise and...quiet. But anyway, I really like what you did with Thumbelina and Cornelius. Thumbelina especially because she became a stronger character since after the first movie. She's still sweet and caring, but not as naive, and I like that about her. I really liked Cecil, he was funny. Maybe it's because I like bats, I've always liked bats. This story had a really great plot, and I was especially hooked when it came to the Unseelie. I've read a lot of dark and scary fanfiction, but the Unseelie actually creeped me out more than anything else. They just gave me a frightful and foreboding feeling inside. I actually had NIGHTMARES! They were really that scary. That has never happened before with fanfiction, and you must be a really good writer if you're able to do that to someone. Anyway, you should write more fanfiction because I really enjoyed this one. Have you written any more since this one was finished?

a Thumbelina fan 2006-04-08 ch 2, anon.	abusei want to say that i am not trying to put you down, I love your style of writing! i think you will make a great writer. however, i disagree with the way you have had the Thumbelina charecters behave. I do not think that the story is bad though! I think that this is a wonderful storyline! but I simply disagree that the Thumbelina charcters are used to portray the behaviour that they have. I really do think that you could make a great writer! and please do not change the way you write because of this ! I just wanted to let you know how i felt...but keep up the good work!
JC 2005-12-26 ch 8, anon.	abuseThis story is great..i got the movie for christmas...i looked everywhere on this site but couldn't find a heading for a thumbelina so i went back to google and typed in thumbelina fanfiction...this came up in the misc section...i was shocked but quite happy to find a story about thumbelina...ur doin an excellent job but i found u haven't really written a lot about thumbelina until the end. But i still think this sory is wonderful and please continue writing...i really wish to find out how the story will end. I also think they should put out a sequel to this movie...possibly yours...Don't you?

I'd really like to get further into the story if you don't mind. BTW I saw your Thumbelina site and it's very remarkable. I learned things I hadn't before and I've been familiar with Thumbelina since I was seven. I'm still skeptical about Thumbelina suddenly aquiring so much spunk and at least a few more brains so maybe you could put in an explaination about how that happened? Just a thought. Anyway is it possible for you to draw the OC's? I think that would be so cool. I'd love to know what Cecil looks like. Anyway once more, Update soon!
