| kiss316 2005-01-10 ch 4, | abuseI enjoyed your story much like every other story of yours which I have read in this section. I was able to overlook or ignore the grammar errors due to english not being your first language because no matter what, the story was good and the plot flowed well. Your character interaction worked very well and I tip my hat to you on your attempt to translate, especially with chapters this long. Good job! |
| rozzy07 2005-01-09 ch 4, | abuseOh I so loved your story, as it is was so wonderfully descriptive and character driven, with esp' the Nick & Derek interaction so wonderfully fleshed out. And as for the whole helicopter crash and pain invovled all I have to see that any Nick angst has to be a good thing! Pls write more double quick time as I've really enoyed your story. Again, big thanks,... Rozzy |
| Saint Maverick 2005-01-07 ch 4, | abuseexcellent story! i so loved it! |
| Althea 2005-01-03 ch 1, anon. | abuseIt's a really good story but you simply MUST get a beta. The grammar and tense are frightful. Don't let this discourage you, as I said, the story itself is good. |
| Mairi-Clare 2004-12-03 ch 3, | abuseHi! This is the first of your stories I have read and so far I'm really enjoying it. The plot is exciting, with lots of action, and the characterisation is very good. Given that English is not your first language, the overall standard is very high, but you might find some advice about grammar and spelling helpful for the future (particularly regarding your use of tenses). If you are interested I would be more than happy to beta-read some of your work. The only slight problem is that I'm British (Scottish) and so I might not pick up on problems with "Americanisms". |
| MacCartney 2004-12-03 ch 3, | abuseHey! Don't stop there!! This is getting really exciting, I can't wait to read more! |
| Chianna 2004-11-29 ch 2, anon. | abuseYour doing great and I'm hooked. You don't have to make apoligies language issues. I know a lot of native speakers whose grammer... well you get my drift. The only continuing problem I see is your usage of the verb conjugations "has," "have," and "had". (a particularly pesky conjucgation for anyone) Here's a little trick from one bilingual writer to another. "Has," "have" and "had" tend to lead you to write in the passive voice. Look for ways to avoid or skip them all together - it'll actually make your writing better and punchier. For instance: "He had written..." should be replaced with "He wrote..." Prety much the same meaning, no? But the second one implies action. Keep writing, I am so looking for the updates to this... |
| Lisa 2004-11-24 ch 2, anon. | abuseGreat story so far! I can't wait for the next chapter!! Keep up the good work. |
| Kayleigh-talitha 2004-11-23 ch 2, | abuseYou're doing great in English, we all have to start somewhere right? You should have seen my ENglish in my first story... Anyways, looking forward to another chapter, and if you want, I don't mind helping out with spelling or anything. |
| Kathy Franklin 2004-11-19 ch 2, anon. | abusePlease please finish this fabulous story! I am a 49 yr old Nick fanatic and you are feeding my habit. Keep up the great work! |
| Lisa 2004-11-12 ch 2, anon. | abuseWow! The emotions of Alex, Nick and Derek are raw in this chapter. Well written. |
| jill 2004-11-11 ch 2, anon. | abuseWell, for a first story I think it is excellent. Keep gping! |
| jill 2004-11-10 ch 1, anon. | abuseI really enjoyed reading your story, and you're actually quite good at writing in American; I did not find it too distracting, and knew exacally what you were saying. As for Bakersfield, that's where my mom grew up! I grew up in the Sacramento valley. So, If you ever have ANY questions about Cali, please feel free to ask me:) |
| Lisa 2004-11-08 ch 1, anon. | abuseWhat a great first chapter! Yo've captured both Derek and Nick's feelings very well indeed. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. |
| rozzy07 2004-11-02 ch 1, | abuseLove the interplay between an anxious Derek and a wounded Nick. Keep writing and update soon, Pls |
