I like Tobir's sentiment about seeing Faramir in the orphanage and university that the Steward had built...Very typical Faramir to built such institutions.

i am so happy you added this chapter! Chibi-kaz beat me to the punch, i was also thinking that it would be wonderful to read Tibor's "story". while faramir's life was full of much sorrow, i love the fact that he did find, allow, and express love for someone later in his life. i only hope that elboron keeps him close and that both can support each other through this difficult time, Tibor needs and deserves it.

i await the next chapter, because as martha would say - it would be a good thing! i do hope you follow through with faramir's "story". i must admit it would also be interesting to read elboron's as well. Tobir states that he initially despised him, but he did eventually see that Tobir could provide something no one else ever was allowed, he was allowed into Faramir's heart and both he and Tobir found happiness, if only for a too brief time.

Ah, too sad, too sad. Beautiful descriptions of love, fear, loss. The glimpses of Faramir's influence on his city, Tobir's loneliness, Elboron's, too sad...

Lovely. tragic, but lovely. I would like to see an alternate POV: Tobir's story. Faramir told Aragorn that he loved Tobir, but did Tobir know? Perhaps he loved the Steward passionately, but silently? I think he might be a very interesting character to get to know.

Aw...such a sad, sweet ending! I liked that Faramir also gave credit to Denethor for making him the strong man he is. And sad as Faramir's decision not to act on his love for Aragorn was, I think it was the right one; since Faramir was Steward and Aragorn was King.

Well as Linda said, slash isn't my cup of tea either...but I read on because I was astounded by the sheer beauty of the writing, which imo can't be faulted. Faramir to me will always be a 100% heterosexual male, but this was very moving.

Ah, as always - excellently written. And oh so tragically sad. Poor Faramir. The vision of his poor, aching-for-love soul, and finally finding SOMEONE who really touched him, only to be exposed to Denethor, and then have the lover killed. GAWD. Too horrible. I'm wiping tears.

I recently reread Aragorn's healing of Faramir (while waiting for the ROTK-EE) and found myself wondering how Faramir would feel about that kind of "intimacy". I ended up wondering if it wouldn't be difficult for him to ever let Aragorn close. I truly hope it didn't turn out this badly!
