Love the way you're writing Zell - the need for fluffy pillows in his life is very sweet.

And Zone is still getting under Squall's feet, in a metaphorical sense, at least.

You're doing a great job of putting humour into this without turning it into a comedy - good balance between the serious and the light-hearted.

It's interesting how you can come up with reasoning like that, even in a story. It would have taken me a week to figure out valid reasons, even if they are yet to be confirmed, as to why the killer did what he did. Good job!

The thing with Rinoa and the he/she thing reminded me of one of the bits from "Life of Brian". It made me laugh. truly you bring a unique perspective to writing. even dramatic turns have spots of humour. i have little time for reading fanworks anymore but you remain atop my list.

I just wanna nit pick one thing before I get into the review; about the shot that missed Squall and Zell; it seems very unlikely that the sniper wouldn't have investigated places to use in order to shoot them, and would have taken into account the time of day, so as to place himself somewhere without distraction. So the thought that the sun suddenly got into his eyes doesn't make much sense to me, especially taking into account how prepared he was with the Siddig guy and the night scope. If he's truly as professional as Squall appears to think, then he would have taken into account everything about his surroundings. So I actually have to agree with Rinoa's theory a lot more; while taking residence in an empty (or rented) apartment may draw a little more attention (ie: People would have seen him or some form of identification) its much more likely that someone knocking on the door would have disrupted him. Even so, I'm still not a hundred percent sure that that was the case.

Okay, that's done. :P

This must be from all the times I've watched Criminal Minds, but the beginning of the chapter in particular reminded me a lot of the profiling procedure when looking at a serial killer. I suppose that's technically what Zell, Squall and Rinoa are doing, but it's fun all the same. Too bad they don't have a guy with an iodyic memory to keep track of everything. Oh well, such is life.

I lol'ed at Zell's commentary about a suspect list of two were the attack conducted by a gunblade expert. I knew it was coming at somepoint, but it was still really cute. :D Though he really did cross the line asking if Laguna was a suspect. The guy wouldn't hurt a fly much less his own son.

I have to admit, I keep forgetting that Zell's a vegetarian now. I miss his obsessing over hotdogs.

And the green dragon rears its ugly head with that 'Ha'. Even Squall saw that Zone liked Rinoa; how sad is that when the guy doesn't usually know that kind of stuff.

Overall, I loved this chapter, especially the parts where they were attempting to profile the shooter. I was almost literally jumping up and down (shaking my new laptop at the same time as it's perched on my bed) trying to give my answers despite knowing that the characters couldn't hear me. I think I need help. ^^

AH! I"M NOT DEAD! I'm so teribly sorry... Now I have three updates to review at one time what am I going to do? Review them of course. School is driving me up a wall (figuratively, and now it's thanksgiving break... *happyness*) Hope all is well with ya :)

ZELL! I love how you have Zell, he's like return of the best friend and re-match maker leaving little bits of info to get things rolling. In a weird way it's kind of funny that Zell is the last to know when He was the first person Squall tried to tell but then shot the idea to hell when he wasn't listening. It should be interesting to see how that one goes over when he does find out.

And I don't remember when but I think a while back I said that you made Squall more human when most made him out to be the guy that couldn't die... I guess throug out this entire story you've put that entire idea into this reality... I guess it just kind of re-hit when Squall was looking at those boxes..

Leave it to Rin to confuse the hell out of Squall. I think that's her job... to confuse him whenever possible ^_^. Actually Maude fits that job description better, but to each story it's own. A confused Squall is a funny Squall... in most cases.

And Rinoa's take on the van was most interesting. I have to say if it had been Selphie... I can only immagine what Cid's face would look like when he saw the van. Makes me crack up... kinda turnes out like a constipated robin williams, or perhaps a giggling robin williams... yeah.

Lauren+Zone=one hell of a funny picture... but int theory it would work. But seriously... his dislike is so... human when it comes to thinking about muffins and ill timed dates. Makes me think about Endless Waltz... hehe, that was funny. I know wrong storry... anywho, the wet hair thing really makes me laugh... and fate owing him a few... more than right.

And trying to look more... comandish and more than a 'mercinary with a gunblade' kind of hit me funny too, it kind of reminded me of how males in the animal world fight for females by trying to outdo eachother... (this is what i get for watching too much Discovery and Animal Planet) It just hit my funny bone.

OMG he found it :S she's back too... AH! On to next chapter ^_^ mwahahahaha!

gosh. you are one hell of a writer. i wish you are the owner of FF8 then maybe it could have a movie like this. i love the flow of the story. every thought, change and other things are put into detail. the mystery is still there. i hope you really plan to finish this wonderful story. i kinda miss laguna. maybe i'll play FF8 again one of these days. but i could never look at them the same way again after reading your work. please update soon!

Zell was so funny in this chapter with his love for beanbags and fluffy pillows! You write him very well. I also enjoyed their conversation about Rinoa's job and Squall's fumble. Seems like something he'd unintentionally do.

Finally, I'm enjoying them trying to figure out who the sniper was. I'm glad you're good at writing this kind of scene. I could never pull that off because my knowledge of weaponry is very limited. It was very well done, great job and I can't wait for an update!

great story! keep it up!! it was killing me how long it took for them to finally get together, but in theend it's all worth it.

This was a really good Squall/Rinoa interaction chapter. I enjoyed it alot. The fact that Squall is going to tell Zell the truth personally is a really big step in the right direction from him.

And I'm pretty sure the subject of the 'damned ring' is going to be coming up in the next few chapters. I actually can't wait for it.
