this is such an appropriate theme for rukia, calculating one's worth. And normally it is very out of character for Ichigo to be so tender, but you made it believable, made it easy to think that Ichigo is very capable of affection and tenderness.

This might be a random point, but it's been a long while since I read a story written in present tense. Haha. I'll agree with you and say it's a little OOC because I can't ever imagine Ichigo kissing Rukia (but then again, I've only seen the anime... maybe the manga features something else). ^^ Otherwise, it was a good, introspective fic. Happy writing!
