As I have said before, ANY story concerning the reunion of Buffy and Spike gets my undevided attention, but I usualy wait until the final chapter to actualy read it (I hated serials at the movies when I was a kid, too.) Ilona's revenge was a surprise, I had forgotten her history with the Immortal. The transformation was exquisitely detailed and well chosen. I like that you made the revenge emotionally dissatisfying for her.

The light hearted reunion in the strada was nicely tempered by Willow's reflection on the darkness she'd uncovered in Buffy. This story was well crafted and the characterizations were spot on. You took ME's one dimensional Ilona and made her breathe. This was a wonderful read, thanks for writing it.

Meanie! You so can't end a story like that! Well in my mind, you shouldn't end the story at all but that's another issue... WHAT is at the heart of the slayer's power?! REALLY want to know! But anywhoo, WOW OH WOW OH WOW to the end of the story! It was just SO... gah there are no words! I mean I loved the last chapter with the whole Willow thing (did I mention how AWESOME that was? I love seeing willow using magick, and then with Gaia, it just blew my mind away) but I loved the Immortal being turned into stone! I knew u wouldnt let Ilone double cross Spike, but I thought i was gonna die laughing when Spike suggested they wack it off with a sledgehammer! You think of the BEST revenge scenarios! Loved this story so much its unbelivable, and im going to miss it! Really and truly! A fantastic job. Applause, applause and an oscar for cass.

Me thinks there's possiblilty of a sequel, eh? Though all Willow saw could be the root of the Slayer power, which was the essense of a demon. They already know there's a root in darkness.

Oh, love this ending! Illona was great as usual-- you really writer her well. And her trap for the immortal-- didn't see that one coming!

Loved the the "Scoobie" conversation. “I am so not Daphne! Daphne is just lame!” Hee! Enjoyed the depiction of Buffy and Spike's relationship. Beautiful!

Very nice piece--though I saw Morty's end coming when Ilona mentioned wanting revenge on somebody early in the piece. (That kind of information is only put in place when it's usually relevant to the matter at hand.) And of course, when he was offered his immortality back, it was a foregone conclusion what would happen. Still, I wouldn't have it any other way. He was nicely odious in this piece. Good characterization in general all around, and well-paced. But since Spike was a subcontractor doing outside work for WRH, why should he be in abrogation of his contract? -Unless, of course, you only want a good excuse to continue the series. That, I can readily understand. :)
