I just watched "Crackpots" again, and it got me started looking for fics. This was by far the best one I have read. You really nailed what was going on in Josh's head during this episode. Great job! One thing that had never occurred to me until I read this piece was that music was also a trigger for Josh in "Noel." I think that's a really interesting part of his character. Just to look at Josh Lyman with his usual swagger, you wouldn't imagine that he loved classical music. Anyway, great job on this piece!

That was beautiful and perfect. I loved how you delved into Josh's character and his thoughts - very much like what Josh would think, but with twists of insight that made me really stop and think. And that's a sign of a great story. The linkage of Josh and music in this show was a real stroke of brilliance, and you played off of that excellently. You nailed his emotions so vividly - you managed to put into words that horrible expression on Josh's face after his conversation with Sam, which takes real talent. I especially liked your description of his encounter with CJ (especially how you kinda sorta linked her up with Joanie), the musing on what would happen to the friends he left behind, and the last paragraph. Great job.

I couldn't quite get the effect of the words from the music interspliced but that is because I don't know the piece well enough. I thought his thoughts and reflections were very beautiful. A great reminder of why we love Josh so much.

Wow...this is positively brilliant...It's so touching and heartfelt...perfectly explaining what might have been going on in Josh's mind when he was given the card. I tried a story like this, but it didn't work out...you did it so much better. It's beautiful. Keep it up.

Hi! I'm new to the West Wing world (my brother showed me the show and I got hooked), so I haven't seen many episodes, but I saw this one and loved it. Then I saw your fic and decided to take a look.

I have to say, I didn't read the whole thing; my sister (who is sitting right next to me) and I concluded that it's just too weird reading the West Wing. But I felt compelled to tell you that you're a very good writer, just from what I saw of this fic. My sister says the same. I like the way you incorporate the song, and considering it's a TV show, you've done a nice job of adapting it to writing. Not to mention that you just write very well in terms of word choice and effectiveness. It's just a little too weird for me. So good job, and keep writing!

I love fics that get into Josh's psyche and this one is great. The use of Latin to break the paragraphs and his thoughts, works really well. Thank you for sharing, this is one of my favourite stories.
