This is very well put together, I am curious to see where it goes. However, having lived in the Deep South of the US for many years, I would like to point out that terms such as "...hot dog!" are seldom used any more. By the way, I live in Cambridge in the UK now.

I get the impression that your twins are going to become quite major players in this story. Can I suggest you try to avoid going down the cliché route or become too predictable.
