Wow, that was good. I was having a little difficulty reading this at first, cause i got nervous, and was like "nothing bad happens, right?", but still, it was a nice ending.

(shakes head) damn, so many people slip through the cracks don’t they? And no-one can help them all, especially when they have trouble accepting help like Tara. Very good characterisation and Tara was an excellent character. I was shocked when she was murdered like that. Poor Mikey and his hero complex!

This was really great...beautiful, fluid writing. I've read most of your stuff from you web page, and I especially love the one about the card game. I'll aslo say that you've got the whole smut thing down pat ( powers that be, please don't kill me!)

This story meshes well with Mike's sensitive, caring nature.
I could feel his pain when he learns what happened to Tara, and undestand why he feels he must try to protect others for his failure in seeing to her.
It is also true that, street people, run aways and street kids often come to a cold and bitter end with none the wiser.
