 IamACritic 2008-05-23 . chapter 1great start |
 jimmyraker 2006-10-24 . chapter 1yep ! i await the sequel impatiently... |
Chris Gilbert 2005-09-19 . chapter 4A very suspensful and dangerous chapter, but does Riot have to come out against Stormer? She has always been the sweetheart and the goodness of the Misfits. All in all it is a good story |
Chris Gilbert 2005-09-19 . chapter 2Okay those Officals need their butts kicked for being so predjudice. Your story is cool but I hope that Stormer pulls through this. Some of my best friends are lesbians and gays, so there is nothing wrong with that. Keep up the good work |
foxwings007 2005-08-30 . chapter 6Wow, such a great story. I love the way it revolves around Stormer. I look forward to reading the sequel! |
Raven 2005-07-15 . chapter 6 You have a strong writing syle and have captured the sense of the original characters' dialogue, but I just can't picture Stormer as a lesbian. The uncercurrent of sexual tension throughout this fan-fic--a vague nod to "1984"--consequently detracts from the more intriguing storyline. All in all, it just seemed a stretch to me. |
Scarlett Phoenix 2005-06-24 . chapter 4First, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this. I haven't forgotten about it. In fact, I have been wondering what happens next, how Stormer's blood test came out, how the rest of the group would react. "Inconclusive" eh, interesting.
You did a wonderful job incorporating all three bands. I especially liked the conversation between Stormer and Kimber. I'm rusty on my Jem knowledge so unsure who some of the characters are but I can still follow along with your story.
It's also nice to see reference to the Starlight kids growing up like Leila. I'll have to read the rest later. |
Lunatique 2005-06-16 . chapter 6Oh god, what a story. I couldn't help but read it in one go. The plot, characterization, the writing, the emotions--all went off without a hitch, and absorbed me straight into the story and the characters. The group interaction of the Misfits absolutely shone, and fulfilled my wildest vision of my favorite band on the show; a band of women rough around the edges but all too human, whose journey is both hearthwarming and very believable. All I can say is: Yes! And with a vengeance, too. |
Minako-J 2005-05-15 . chapter 6This story has a disturbing premise - and I mean that in a good way! The concept of the Morality Office was a good way to cause tension in the story and allow you to show a lot of depth to the Misfits. I liked the way you portrayed them as being more than just angry and selfish. I look forward to reading the sequel. |
Lupinslair 2005-04-22 . chapter 6 Love how you have a "softie" Pizzazz getting the Misfits flowers. Aw! That gesture says so much.
As did the Misfits and Craig knowing well that wasn't Stormer despite looking identical to her. It takes really knowing the person to realise it is an impersonator.
Love how Craig reacted to Stormer coming out with him, and hhis reaction when he learnt about the Misfits' acceptance with Stormer. Like I said before, you should never underestimate people.
The Kimber and Graig hugs were lovely, and probably the best bit was where you mentioned the difference between Kimber's actions towards Stormer and the Misfits' and how each in their own way show their caring and acceptance and open-mindedness. And esp how Stormer admits that she craves for the loving open affection Kimber shows and she misses that from her bandmates, but how she also realises how much the Misfits care through their own ways of showing affection (however stilted) and also how she admits things won't ever be perfect with the Misfits but itis good enough. Love how you don't make everything perfect and rosy because heavens we know life isn't like that. |
Lupinslair 2005-04-22 . chapter 5 Can I just say how much I love your Jetta? That scene with Riot at Stingers Sound was fantastic. I loved that however taken Pizzazz was with Riot, the other Misfits (and esp Jetta and Roxy) wasn't taking the **. Love how observant Jetta was and how sceptical and savvy she is.
Ditto how she was with Stormer at the end too. Whatever tough girl image she might have, she is one cool sensitive woman.
Glad to read how protective Stormer is with Roxy (the bit about Stormer saying she would show Roxy's abusers just how tough she was). All i all love how you use the narrative to really build up the relationship between the bandmates and how you bring out the deeper aspects of their characters. Very reflective and really justifies whatever actions you write for them. |
Lupinslair 2005-04-22 . chapter 4 Loved how you had Pizzazz confess to herself (in the narrative) that she was angry and scared, not at Stormer per se but at the fact she cared for Stormer and the fact of being left again.
Good to see Roxy's anger at Stormer not telling her about being gay, then her ensuing jealousy that Stormer had told Kimber instead of her and then the almost wordless, wonderful scene where they made up. A scene where really actions and trust/friendship beats a long dialogue anyday.
Also very cool to see the Holograms' reaction to Stormer being gay (and then not) and Aja is lovely! :-) Funny to see how little really everyone knows about everyone else. Not saying that in the way that people don't know each other, but more like how there are some things that always surprise you about people. Like how at first Stormer found out her bandmates did care about her afterall even after they found out about her; about how the Holograms think the Misfits would kick Stormer out as they are so narrow-minded... |
Lupinslair 2005-04-22 . chapter 3 Absolutely loved how the rest of the Misfits went back for Stormer, how you managed to really get the reader to understand the extent of their caring for her even though many of their actions and words would be understated and brusque (compared to say how it would be like with the Holograms).
Love Jetta and her smarts. That girl realy has her head screwed on tight and keeps her cool and wits about her. She provide such intellect and savvy in contrast to Roxy and Pizzazz's hot tempers and rashness and Stormer's quietness and introspect. |
Lupinslair 2005-04-22 . chapter 2 I love how you develop the characters, like really get in under them and explore their feelings and thoughts and ery often too translate them into actions and dialogue. Characterisation definitely makes a story and you do it supoerbly. I particularly loved how you got into Pizzazz on the train, and of course, Stormer throughout. |
Chris Gilbert 2005-03-30 . chapter 1This story is definately one of a kind, Keep up the good work |
