Very sweet take on that episode. Unfortunately, as sentimental as he can be, Spike isn't likely to have any pretty dangly bits left over from his human days or I'm sure he'd have passed them along at one time or another in the series - though, probably, to Dawn. I like your story and it would have been a good place to start the healing in their relationship. Joss could have come up with any number of motives for Spike to quest for his soul without damaging the characters so horribly.
