I can't tell you how much I wait for one of your storys. I love how you become batman just to tell us a bit of how he feels. I liked this one as well, esspecialy the last couple lines. It really summed up the story. good job syl.

well that was...depressing. Thing is, if I'm in the mood for depressing, I read Dostoyevski. When I want escapism and adventure and fun, I read comics. When the comics churn out depressing drivel (as Batman titles have been) I turn to fan fiction. So, while I'm always delighted to see a new fic by Syl, I must regretfully give this one a thumbs down.

Your Batman stories are always of the top grade, and you write them, their characters and motivations so well that you should be writing for DC (at least that's MY opinion); the really painful thing about this particular one is that this one could have really happened in the real world... I couldn't help thinking in the end that I hope that Gotham makes a warm bedmate and a good friend, because Bats is losing all his living and breathing friends and companions to his dark persona and to his obsession.

...And I remember being in Bats' position myself - so stunned the words don't come, tongue cleaved to the roof of my mouth...
