First of all, it has better spelling and formatting than many Dracula stories up on which I am glad for. and the writing isn't horrendous. But the story itself is...well, it's most definetly not based on the novel, and it seems to only have a vague connection to actual history (though, if it turns out that Rainia is the mistress of Vlad's who he murdered for lying to him about pregnancy than I shall retract that comment, because that would be simply wonderful). This may be partly my taste, but the way you're painting Vlad as "gentle and kind to everyone but his enemies" simply does not seem realistic to him. I can see sympathetic!Vlad (Hell, I've written that characterization myself) but the way you write him doesn't seem IC to me. Except for some details, you could be writing original fic. I also believe you may have fallen into the trap of creating an original character who the main male character instantly falls in love with, to the point of being OOC, and who appears to have no faults that cannot be interperted as virtues. The fact that your username and that of the character are the same only make this increasingly appear so.

It was a good idea to post this, I believe, because it does add a bit of background to the original SotD, which is wonderful in itself. In short, please keep writing!
