I actually liked this. It was well written and showed a great deal of unconscious battling between right and wrong within Rubicant. However, him suddenly liking the female warrior seemed a bit rushed to me... He just looks at her and suddenly likes her? It should take a bit more time for that - perhaps a few more chapters for him to begin to realize. But this as a standalone is a very good one-shot. I would be very interested in seeing more of this. If you feel inclined to write more, that is. :)
