Oh, this is fluff all right. But this is good fluff. There are itsy bitsy teeny weenie bits of OOCness, but it’s all covered by those parts (Kuroganes’s snarling, Fai’s half hearted smile->the list goes on) that seems so THEM and still can make a girl melt on her laptop – or dance in giddiness, depending on present company XD.

Drop the hints and bring the fullfledged Fai/Kuro fluff! THis is really good, and personaly, I thoought TOmoyo was well enough in chracter. It amused me that she kept saying that she dropped the formal talk, but there was still something ... formal abotu her way of talking. Then again though, she is a princes,, and she is smart, and that would surely make her have a more refined way of talkign even if she was being casual. I do. It's the weirdest thing ever. I use words no one in their right mind woudl. *sweatdrop* I mean, I'll be like, 'But she must, musn't she?' or something like that. ANyway... I acutally kinda like Fai as being depressed. I mean, if that's the real him then from his point of view that is what we shoudl see. I find the mask thing really intersting thouugh, and love to use it, the contradictions in how he acts and how he feels. Anyway, continue *Oh and I loved the 'coughprotectingFaicough'* And update soon!

I think you did just fine. Tomoyo-hime and Fai are types that are bound to get along from the very start,as oppose to Kurogane & Ashura-ou, so their conversation would've been more relaxed.
I love how you made parallels of Fai & tomoyo-hime's relationship to Kurogane ( and him letting them get away with things shows that he cares.)

ps. Wouldn't it be more EVEN MORE fun if someone writes about Yasha-ou's Kurogane & Fai? What if they meet OUR Kurogane & Fai? What if there was an identity mix-up, and one (or both) switch? Or maybe alternate Kuro&Fai is already together, and decide to play some matchmaking? Oh the possibilities...(and did I mentioned that I'm greedy and shameless?)

I thought it was REALLY cool. And it gave me great ideas, you know, little phrases here and there that you think really match up witht eh chracter and inspire you to use in your own stories. Like when you said that Fai fills silence as a way of talking, it you know, fits, and so it's something I want to keep in my fic, the fat that Fai talks to avoid *talking* about serious things. And the Kurogane not beign able to keep secrets, that's something else I wanna keep in mind when writing my fic, but that'll be harder for me to work with because I'm the type of person that loves having secrets (well, more like I know a lot of things, and prefer to keep ppl from knowing i know them) and droping hints of what i know when asked about them, but keeping them really vague, so it's hard for me to portray someone who can't keep a secret. So those two points really stuck a chord in me, and it was such a interesting concept, this whole Kuro meeting Ashura. I cannot WAIT to rad more of Tsubasa (only read up to the third book) and see what comes up with Fai and Kurogane. Stupid CLAMP have to tease us... they always do that! It's like subtle hints of Fai/Kuro, but no outright romance! No! Very hopeful couple... I agree with your theory on Kuro, but sometimes I wonder if mayeb HE is a ppl eating demon who reformed and doens't eat ppl anymore but is still a demon. Or if he has a grudge against them... for vengeance or soemthing. It was a great fic, I really enjoyed it, and personally, and dyign for the next update, and only wish for more Fai/Kuro romance. Love them... *faints* good job!

Well, I liked the story. I love the way you managed to keep eveyone in character, a difficult task when you have so little information.

In Rg Veda, Shurano!Ashura is actually Celes!Ashura’s son, so no worries. That tidbit aside, I cannot begin to describe the gratitude I feel for you now.
There I was, wallowing in my misery for lack of TRC fics (particularly for a certain pairing)… then I clicked the link from the kuroxfai lj community . Thanks SO much ~ (Although you do realize that this means I will most probably give you a plot bunny along with every review - I’m greedy that way). I admire your creativity for being able to write a fic in two days btw. I tried to do one a month ago, but I’m stuck on the first paragraph. *sighs*
Ashura-ou was a rather vague character from what I’ve seen of Rg Veda so far…and your dialogue reflects that, so it all fits. Again, great job on keeping everything in moderation, although I am happy to say that the hints in this fic are more obvious than ‘Curse’ (gave me more things to squee over). My favorite part has to be when Ashura-ou commented on the fact of Kurogane’s conversational skills- and that Fai speaks enough for both of them. It just reminds me how opposite those two are, and you know what they say about opposites…
Forgive me for being dense, but there are some parts I cannot decipher in this chapter and I hope you’ll clarify. 1st, what is Kurogane’s secret? 2nd, When Ashura-ou said that he cannot afford to lose to Kuro because in risk of losing power, did he meant Fai? 3rd, just what is it about Kurogane that Ashura-ou keep on referring too?
I can go on and on about all the things I like in this fic – for example, Souma’s reaction to Tomoyo-hime’s style of speech when talking to Kurogane, how Kuro wants to protect Fai but still lets him fight his own battles, and so on, but I think I’ve talked even more than last time and I really should relieve you from my chatter now.
One last thing, correct me if I’m wrong but will the 2nd chapter be Fai meeting Tomoyo-hime? Because I just had this image stuck in my head of Fye & the princess ‘ohohoing’ together with the ninja shivering in cold sweat at the background >

I've read all three TRC fanfics you posted in , and loved every one of them. However, this is the best. Characterization of Ashura and Kurogane is wonderful. I'm always fascinated by the way you portrays Kurogane, and the relationship between him and Fai.
You're continuing this, right? I can barely wait!

PS. Fai's Ashura and Shurano's Ashura is, I believe, really different person. I have read RG Veda by CLAMP, and I remember their were actually TWO Ashuras in the manga. There was King Ashura, or Ashura-ou, who looked exactly like King Ashura of Celes, and his child whose name was also Ashura (not really a son, because he was... asexual), who looked like a younger version of Ashura in Shurano. But I have no idea what kind of connection these two Ashuras have in the world(worlds?) of TRC.
