Impressive...

I am truly moved by your obvious passion in your work and skill level as a storyteller. I was truly captivated.

Robin's emotion's are understanble. Taking a life is no easy thing. But I question Raven's reasoning...

To take a life is not something so black and white.

Robin's decision to kill will clearly impact him for the remainder of his life. However, what justice is done when the criminal receives punishment of a less severity than that of his crime? Starfire was tortured for God knows how long. Not to mention his continuous hostage taking activities. Poverty is no excuse. And what message would it send to the larger world to only lock this man up afterwards? Can we really afford to be so easily granting of a sub-par response?

Raven's passion and valor were moving. Her point of Robin's saving a life by taking a life clearly marked her position of not taking life under any circumstances.

But what one must consider: What kind of life did Robin take? And what kind of life did he save? Robin took a life that tortured an innocent. One that had choosen evil over good. What life did he save? One that does good.

Another thought I have is the fact that the incident was published in the paper.

When it was published in the paper, Robin's actions became known to the wider world. What kind of a reaction will be received? Criminals that commited horrible crimes for so long received only jail time only to be let out again along with the chance to continue their activities. The paper said that he had commited numerous hostage takings.

Not much of a deterant.

However, now they are faced with the possibility of death. Perhaps they will think twice before attacking the innocent? The good guys can't always afford to look good for the cameras.

The fact that the criminal had child does bring my reasoning into question however: What about him? Must he suffer for the sins of the the father? It is a terrible price he is forced to pay. I hope he is looked after by another. However, what about the criminal's victims? What about the vicitim's family?

In the end, Robin had a choice: Stop the crook today and give him a chance to do it again, or stop him and his future crimes permanently.

His inner struggle was realistic and Raven's reaction likewise. I was hooked until the end. Well done!

Sorry for the long review but I loved this story! Your passion in writing is a style that I have a hard time finding on I hope I wasn't too critical. Your and your story definetely get spots on my favorite lists!

Please keep writing stories like these!

I loved this! It was beautiful in it's stark truth. Thank you for taking such a strong stance on Life and Death. I just have one concern; what about the bad guys who aren't just doing it for theor orphaned kids? The guys who are truly evil? They also deserve a mercy and a chance at a conversion. I think you should write a sequal to this on that premise. You are great. God bless you.

AW! Raven and Robin are so stoic! Poor Robin! I luved the part where Rae 'turned on the night light ... brought the little boy out.' That was really sweet! Keep writing! Your great at it!

That...was...freaking... AWESOME! That was one of the best stories I've ever read, period. Who'd have thought Robin would have it in him? And at the end, with the darkness and the nothingness, you were so poetic, it made me all teary and dreading the nothingness that awaited. Geez. You are, like, one of the best writers EVER! I hope you're not looking for criticism, because there's none to give.

Whoa.

You know how to spin it, don't you? Titans, all dark and evil... you could almost say that it'd never happen, and that this fic just brought out the worst in Robin, but... then you have to think of it like: while these kids have the name, TEEN Titans, they're still kids, and they've all had pretty messed up lives (if you go by the comics). They've only really got eachother to count on, and if that gets threatened... it's not surprising Robin did what he did. Not right, but, given Wonder Boy's track record, not surprising. I hope the others can see that too. I also liked the whole Raven/Robin friend thing. It's nice to see a story where they're helping each other (well, sort of...) out, without having all those, 'Oh I love you so much' moments. Friends. This site should have more of it (even though this makes me a big hypocritic cause I write mostly Romance, but hey, you get that). So yeah, all up, I liked it. Very much so.
