Oh, I love this! It doesn't matter who they are, anyway. This story is beautiful; dark, depressing. Just the way I like 'em. ;)
I really love the way you write a couple paragraphs and then throw in a coupel short, simple phrases to contrast it. Makes for an excellent effect.
