Awesome...I love this! Sorry it's midnight and I can't speak/write coherently so suffice it to say that this is a wonderful fic, I love when you said "that horrible Sparrow man". No, it's not as short as it seems...well, technically I don't know how short it seems to you. :) Anyway, I'm really, REALLY enjoying this, so please keep up the great work!

May I fangirl your use of the word 'orbs'? Ann is wonderful, Trinn is wonderful -- in a horrible sort of way -- everything is wonderful. Lovely job!

The chapter does seem on the short side, but that just might be because I want to read more of this story. As I mentioned before, it's amazing to see such a good parody for a change.

This story is really rather good. It reminds me, in part, of Terry Pratchett's 'Maskerade'. Oh, and Trinn is so much of a 'Sue..*growls*
Anyway. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

I have to say, Ann is much more of a Sue to me than Trinn, and that's not just because we share a first name. I bet that for every simpering twit who'd wish to be Trinn, there's a dozen lasses who'd kill to be in Ann's position: one of the boys, learning the ropes, chumming it with the crew and trading barbs with Sparrow.

Chapters can never be too long, especailly when the plot gets as intriguing as this one.

Hm. Trinn is beautiful outside, ugly inside. Ann is not so great on the outside, and beautiful on the inside. You know, twisted and sick as it sounds, I hope Jack gets a severe blow to the head and realizes that. But that's just my Jack-lust speaking. Heh. I loved Ann's comment about how Trinn could do anything "except gain weight." I really like this paraody, it isn't silly like other parodies, it's more of a satire than anything. I love the fact that we're getting the view from OUTSIDE Jack's cabin, and I also adore the fact that Jack can't decide whether he wants to have sex with Trinn or kill her. It sort of puts some reality into the situation of Jack capturing an OC -- they're not all sunshine and roses. Especially not Trinn.

I shall await the next chapter with baited breath, and rooting for Ann the entire way. Not that I want her to fall for Jack, that would just be a little too...contrived. ALthough there is "something about him," that gets through her bargaining walls. The Sparrow charm, I'm sure. :)

Excellent stuff! Seemed to end a bit abruptly, though. (And I'm not sure what velleity is, but that's more down to being unwilling to drag out that damn heavy microprint OED at this hour, methinks)

...I was going to write a joking fangirl leet comment here about poor Trinn, but I honestly didn't know where to start. Ah, well. I love Ann, and the minor pirates. Great stuff! Hope we get to see more of these interesting minor characters as well (and Gibbs, perhaps. Always liked Gibbs)

Nice! A breath of fresh air for those of us who are used to teh-GAWGEOUS-goth-gets-onna-ship-and-has-teh-hawt-SEXORZ-wit-evvy1-and-becomes-queen. Keep up the good work!

Found my way here from LiveJournal. This is really delightful! I like your careful inclusion of period detail and the knowing references to Mary-Sueisms, plus Ann is a promising character and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with her.
