Majime Noubenka 2006-01-07 . chapter 1I liked this fic, although it was a bit angsty than most. You also seemed to focus more on the happenings of those around Yukina rather than her romance (or in this fic, lack thereof) with Kuwabara, though I will admit you did kinda focus more on it in the end. I agree with some of your points on Kurama, Mukuro, and Hiei, but I do have to say that I don't think you give the whole Hiei/Mukuro thing much credit.
You have to remember that both of them are demons, which already makes it hard for them to express their emotions just because of that. Also, they've both led VERY hard lives from what I understand, and if you recall in the filler episodes (they never finished the manga, so it's really not known if Mukuro and the other Makai rulers would ever make appearances), Mukuro did state that Hiei was the first and only person to break thru her hardened exterior (she even stripped herself naked in front of his rejuvantion tank if I recall correctly), so it is possible for the two of them to have a relationship.
When it comes to demon relationships, or those involving demons, I find that many people tend to let the human aspects and opinions of what a relationship is supposed to be influence their opinion on relationships involving different species (in this case, demons).
I also have to disagree with your opinion on the Yusuke/Keiko romance. Not because its canon, as I strongly prefer the Kuwabara/Yukina pairing to those two, seeing as they're the typical anime canon couple (think Inuyasha and Kagome, and you'll see what I mean).
But I digress, Keiko is truly in love with Yusuke, they've been close since they're early childhood, and she's been by his side through each and every difficult part of his life. It only makes sense that she would continue to do that, as it wouldn't make much sense to do things like that only to end up throwing all away later on down the road. It just wouldn't make sense at all.
Plus, Yusuke and Keiko were supposed to wed after he returned, and from what I understand, he left control of Raizen's territory in the hands of the bald guy who was Raizen's right hand. If he did that, and did come back to marry Keiko, then it would highly unlikely (though not out of the realm of possibility) for him to have any reason to need to go back to Makai, other than for the tournament that happens there every few years to decide the new ruler of Makai.
Other than these opposing opinions of mine, your story was still a good one, and it's refreshing to see someone offer a different scenario to how things might've ended long after the series ends. Very well written and thought out, so kudos on a job well done. Ja ne!! |
Katzztar 2005-01-02 . chapter 1Hm I have to agree on about all your notes.
Hehe I wish I could find the site I once found...it had a translation of the last episode of YYH. it's three years later, Kuwabara & Kurama are at abus stop, when two girls approch them, addressing Kuwabara as Kazuma-kun. They mistake Kurama as a girl. After they leave, Kazuma apologizes for it. Kurama calmly states that it's okay and that it seems that Kazuma is very popular.
Kazuma tells Kurama that after he correctly predicted an earthquake,(in his freashman year I think) they won't leave him alone. |
