My, what a bittersweet and enigmatic ending! I love that it isn't just basically "and they lived happily ever after". Much more realistic and satisfying, because of the fact that it isn't completely satisfying... if that makes sense.

I love your version of Diamond, even if it doesn't completely match the image I have in my mind. It's a perfectly believable interpretation and a really interesting dynamic that she has with Pippin. I loved how you described him, too, because I can tell you've added your own elements and blended them with the book version as well as a pinch of movieversePippin. Which is awesome because I love Billy Boyd. :D

Wow. This is such a fantastic story - and it's written so beautifully. I'm kind of sad that Diamond and Pippin live apart, but it's a change from the happily-ever-after sort of story - I suppose they still are happy, just in a different sense. Anyway, I loved the the story!

This story was spectacular. It helped me better understand Diamond, a charcter whom I've never liked, and I appriciate her more now than I ever have. You've made her so faceted; she's physically afraid of Pippin's size, something which I never considered; she *wants* ice to flow through her veins as a way to keep her strong...there's just so much to her, and I adore that. Merry, also, being so pragmatic. I almost wanted to dislike him (unheard of, for me) simply because he was so aware of how to play people to get what he needs/ wants that I feared he'd start depending on this. But then, he would laugh, and it would by alright.

I love not knowing if Diamond goes back to Long Cleeve or not. Perhaps, in the forest, everything turns out ok.

I have to admit, this is one of the best Pippin/Diamond storie I've read so far (and there aren't many good ones, sadly). Your Diamond is awesome und you write her character so beautifully. I also adore your Merry... he's quite like how I imagined him from the books.

I just discovered this story and I love it. The inter-relationships are so true-to-life, right down to the interfering family and outsiders. I couldn't wait to find out if the characters were reunited, so I had to hop over to the "Falcon" series. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I love the character and personality of Diamond. She is much different than other author's depict her. I like this version of her better. I'd never thought of her take on his 'foolishness'. Although, it seems kind of obvious now that she would think he's an idiot.
