Where does Soujirou come in? Still, i like the characters esp Akairi. Is a father-daughter reunion in store? Nagakura did survive the Bakumatsu, historically at least.

Like the use of the hairpin/ needle. In the classics, hairpins are often referred to women's swords for the obvious reason female assassins tend to be able to get closer to their often male prey for the kill.

Wow, so far this is a very interesting crossover between PMK and RK! Shinpachi as Soujirou's biological father... I'm quite intrigued! ^^ The prose is beautiful - your style is quite addicting.
