Hiyo Reno,

Not sure if you remember me or not. A while ago, on lj, I commented to... Drakonlily I think about how I should read some of your stuff because your name always seems to be attached to great praise. You replied to my comment, inviting me to take a look. Well, I figure better late than never, ne? I hope you don't mind if I flood your inbox a little bit tonight. I've been hoping a moment to catch up and read some good fiction.

I very much enjoyed the story. The poem was lovely (though I will be the first to admit that I have no talent for it). I can see why you would borrow it for such a piece. Your characterization of Reno was very, very nice. I think that my favourite part of the story was the ending. Two sentences stood out, in my mind. The first was 'He'd killed his wife first'. The shock value of that line was amazing and was augmented by the fact that you left it as a stand-alone sentence. My favourite line in the entire story was "Sorrows sink like rocks in brandy" I think. There's just something about it... it has a very nice ring to it. Great story.

How could I not have noticed this earlier? :\ Nevertheless, like all your other pieces, this has blown me away. You have an impeccable writing style, you've crafted personalities that are almost unrivalled in fandom entirely, and you've moved me with this story. Great stuff.

Wow. You write...o_O Fast. Really fast. But on to the review that you so rightly deserve.

One of your bests as always. I think it's solidy Reffie that fuels you to write like this. The details were wonderful. Not to heavily laid on and at the same time not lightly placed. You were descriptive without stopping every paragraph to describe a strand of Yuffie's hair. (Which I have been seeing a lot lately).

Their dialouge was absolutely wonderful. I think towards the end it became a bit of a tearjerker for me. Not to mention the song choice was very well picked. Overall, you did a wonderful job on this little bit, Mr. Spiegel. Keep writing and I'm going to seriously stalk you.

Hey man.. this is probably one of the best that you've written since the Silver Rose series. I've read it maybe five times now, and I'll probably read it five times more. It's wonderfully constructed, and the poem intertwines perfectly with the setting between Reno and Yuffie. The vivid descriptions of the events line you right up for the one-liners that give the story a tragic voice.

There was only one spelling/grammatical error that I noticed, and that's just me being picky. Overall, it's a masterpeice.

And I'd have to agree with you:

That was gorgeous...with that quick almost knife-like twisting at the end. And I love the incorporation of the poetry.

And even its words seem to pale in comparison to what Reno's going through.

I liked this, nice emotion, I love how mature Yuffie acts and how totally bitter Reno is. Its very real to be unable to face facts and more so not WANT to think about them.

There are a few little errors in the writing here and there, but other then that, good job.

The ending left me almost breathless. It actually surprised me, I wasn't expecting it. I figured he wasn't lying, Turk honour and all that, but when you revealed the full of it -- man, was I off-guard. Loved the poem, too; the way it worked with the fic's mood and story was... impressive.

Yeah, my intial reaction was much like the rest; y'know, "wow" and "speechless"; Good words for good stuff.

And lastly, thanks for the plug and dedication. I am happy. {makes face} See?

Holy sh!t...this is amazing, Reno. Really. You have this amazing ability to just write so much of this great Reno-based stuff...

Aw... Yuffie and Reno are so perfect together, even if it's something low-key. And Reno is so cuddly when he sounds depressed or otherwise having a bad day. Adorable.

...Wow. I believe that's my reaction after reading this. Wow. Lol, i'm pretty much speechless. Beautiful though, I loved it.
