PsychoWing 2008-07-21 . chapter 4
I liked "Wake as Me" and I'm glad you wrote a sequel. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Wow. I would never think that Xander would attempt suicide, but then again I've never read a story where he had to endure that much "physical" and emotional pain.

It took me a while to look this up, I'm glad I finally found it. I hope you decide to continue it.

I decided to check an old favorite and it was just as good as I remember and unfortunately still incomplete. Sorry to complain but is there any chance that an update or a completion will be forthcoming any time in the near future?

Any chance of giving us more chapters on this story (and your other unfinished ones, too. I'd love to know what happened to Xander as Thrawn) You've got me interested in the character, and I'd love to find out what happens with him and if he finally gets to a happily-ever-after. I hope your muse and schedule will allow you to write and post more chapters sometime soon. Keep up the good work. Zafaran zafaran@fastmail.fm

Lord Mesron 2006-01-06 . chapter 4
Great story. I like how you have Xander reacting to all that has happened to him, and Kowalsky. Hopefully, once he gets this out of him, and with help from the SGC, he could become a valuable team member.

Any chance of an update soon?
Beatrice Otter 2005-11-10 . chapter 4
The idea that hymans use only a fraction of their brain power is a myth. Humans use only a fraction of their brain _consciously_. The rest of the gray matter goes to such things as regulating the heart, lungs, other internal organs, hormones, etc. It all has a use, we just aren't capable of manipulating it on a conscious level. That's why the Ancient download would have killed Jack if the Asgard hadn't removed it--with the download taking over _all_ of his brain, the bits that controlled his bodily functions like his heart were getting overwritten with Ancient data.

I haven't read the story this is a sequel to, but Xander isn't acting at all in character for either himself or Kowalsky.

Still, the story as a whole is good enough to keep me reading for four chapters so far and caring enough about it to mind when there are small flaws like the above (and take the time to comment about them), so overall you're doing pretty good.

First, wtf is Sam doing giving medical information? She is not a medical doctor, and despite kibbitzing with Frasier doesn't even have a degree in biology. She's an astrophysicist. I.e. if you want math or sciences relating to stars and other celestial bodies, she's your girl. If you want medical stuff, you need to talk with Frasier.

Second, I know Jack likes to play stupid. Keep in mind, however, that it is mostly an act and a "humorous" part he plays. Part of him clowning around. It does not and never has interfered with his ability to carry out his duties. MRIs are a fairly common type of medical procedure just in general; I would not expect an adult not to know at least the name. In addition, from all accounts the SGC personnel receive MRIs on a regular basis both as a precautionary measure and to check for various problems (Goa'uld, for instance). So the idea that Jack wouldn't know what one was absolutely unbelievable to me. That he didn't know all the science behind it? Yeah, sure, that sounds about right. Most non-specialists wouldn't. But he'd know what it was and what information it could give them.
Beatrice Otter 2005-11-10 . chapter 1
Military people only salute when they are in uniform and wearing hats. Military personnell do not wear hats in doors. Ergo, there is no saluting in doors. Yes, I know, they salute in the pilot episode--but that was the _pilot_ episode, and they had not yet been assigned a military liaison officer yet, and as such didn't know better. If they're indoors and you want someone to salute, have them brace to attention instead.

However, the SGC is run on a rather informal basis--there's not much "attention" used, certianly not by the top teams. Keep that in mind.

Keep going! Great story! Poor Xander, when will he wake up? They better not do anything to hurt him!
ashez2ashes 2005-08-10 . chapter 4
Xander suddenly going mental seemed... really off. He has been living with the memories for a long time and he's been possesed before.

I know he's got company in his head, but his reactions in this last chapter don't seem well... very Xander-ish. Maybe it's the fangirl in me talking, but Xander is stronger than this (I can't speak for Kowalsky, my SGI knowledge is really limited, but I'm sure he wasn't a wimp either).

It's not that he couldn't break down, but it would take more than that. Buffy and Willow dead , maybe. And even then he seems like the type to go off and break down in secret, drink himself to death in a hotel so he doesn't drag anyone else down (isn't this a cheery review).

Please don't get discouraged by this review. I don't think this story was all bad, in fact I was really into it at the beginning (and the prequel was fascinating also). The story just seems to have derailed a bit.

Why did Xander go mental? He'd been living with the
memories for quite a while at this point.
