One thing straight, I thought this was a very interesting, excellently-written character exploration. But unlike some other readers, I sympathize more with Scott in this story. I've always had a hard time making Scott and Emma work, but this story really begins to shed some insight. I completely agree that as the Phoenix, Jean does not need Scott, but he needs somebody that needs him. And it makes no sense that a telepath as powerful as her could be so completely oblivious to the state of his mind since his separation from En-Sabah-Nur. That negligence would be enough to push any man away. I think you really drove the point home that Scott wasn't perfect, and he was sick of acting that way. Emma knew she wasn't perfect, and she accepted him the way he was. Sure he might have been weak, but his reaction was also very human. Thank you for giving Scott Summers a little bit of depth. |

I am hardly a big fan of Jean, and when Scott was with her he got on my nerves too, but now that he's with Emma I actually like him a little better. I think you did an excellent job explaining why he ultimately chose Emma. For me it all rang true. I always love your stories...they are pure gold! :) |

So, I like that you gave ol' Scottie some depth and reason. Jean is not my fave and Emma has spunk-although she did miss Jubilee being missing for a whole month... Anywho, I like your style. I'll be looking for more. |
