arlewen 2005-01-15 . chapter 1Oh, wow. That was...wonderful. I didn't think of comparing Charlie and Claire to Mary and Joseph, and although I know they're not holy or anything, it was definitely an interesting concept and a very good take on that opinion.
I think what struck me the most was Joseph's loving Mary's child and accepting Him for the gift he was, even though it wasn't his, and how Charlie recalled that and felt that he was doing the same.
This was especially riveting because of what we know of Charlie's past, and how now, he recalls that part of his former life and takes comfort from it.
Just wondering...are you a Christian? You seem familiar with the Bible, at least this part of it, and you did a very good job with the comparisons. Just asking, because I am, and it's always nice to find other Christians out there. But don't worry, I won't hold it against you or anything if you're not. :)
I'm off to read your friend's story, if it's up, and I'd love to know who "won" this contest! You truly did a good job with it and I look foward to much more from you! |
