A very dark and interesting twist on the story and I felt very sympathetic toward the princess in the end.

This is an interesting retelling. I can't wait to hear what happens. Ironic, how a rose pierces her, when sleeping beauty is actually called "Briar Rose" by the Brothers Grimm. Interesting thought... being pricked by a thorn. Very creative. I like where you are going with the story.
