I think, as much as I loved this fic, I have to say I loved those REVIEW NOW parodies just as much! XD They were hilarious, which contrasted nicely with the dour theme of the fic! Nice!

Several ideas that could give this story a twist:

Sound is invaded (Not by leaf, i mean, cmon, that would be cheezey.)

The genin escape (you seem to be planning this. killing off okami?)

Okami goes evil and melody must combat him. ultimately the whole dramatic clutching-friend's-body thing going on while he says he's oh so sorry /gasp /die.

Somehow give fleeting glimpses of our favorite Leaf nin, ESPECIALLY if you're going to do the escape/invasion. Even if it's only mention of familiar features, it would add alot of depth.

yeah so, i'm glad you weren't offended by my review, even though i feel this chapter is lacking something compared to the first.

this chapter just didn't have the same impact on me.

i have to confess i almost giggled at the first comment about Kin; does she just make fun of everyone's hair as a standard thing or something? hehe, but don't worry, shikamaru-sama kicks her arse (rather, smashes her head) soon enough.

Miyu was a lot like Hinata, wasn't she? how could a girl like that survive in the Sound Village? well, i guess she hasn't...

while the concept of weeding out the weaklings while intimidating everyone else was highly appropriate to the context, i couldn't help feeling that the violence was rather overdone, even a bit tacky...you could have had the same effect with a less gory method.

maybe a genjutsu to kill her mind or something, or just to have them drag her away, and then hear a scream or something...anyway.

interesting characters for team mates. and yeah, okami does seem like naruto/kiba hybrid (perish the thought...^_^). looking good.
