 Warg 9/4/06 . chapter 1Hi..
Well i must say that this was a good read. though the beginning set me off a little, i enjoyed it by the end.
The line *Unfortunately, I had to do both.* sets up a somewhat OOC tone for Aoshi.. i mean, he is used enough to pain to not attach it to anything beyond well just the feeling and likely detach himself from it.
Without being over-critical.. the clarity and the way you drove in your points be it by repetitions, variations on wording or simple stregth of prose was impressive. More overtly romantic than i'd think right for Aoshi.. but then thats just me _
Another little addition would, perhaps, be a play on the tenses, erm like a shift from the past to the present as we near the end to add to force to the dramatic.
A very good effort none the less. :)

 GreenEyedFloozy 6/28/05 . chapter 1Aw... kawaii! _ |
Napaj626 3/6/05 . chapter 1 um...yeah...the end part where Aoshi promises to forever protect Misao in the shadows, I didn't get that. "the monster within me" That's what confused me a little. I thought that Kenshin let that monster out and that Aoshi had changed during the fight. So if you could just clear that up...oh yeah I almost forgot i really like it! I was so focused on the meaning that I just kinda...yeah. |
Ms Western Ink 2/20/05 . chapter 1*frowns unhappily* Okay, I read this like twice before and now again, this time much more carefully. I think, honestly, I didn't do this piece much justice the first time I read it anyway, so it's just as well I've done so again.
Normally, I don't care for stories that go back on certain Aoshi events like this one becuase they never seem to expand upon anything. I couldn't say that about this because there were a couple of things in here that kind of surprised me. I'd list them for you but... eh, this review's already running long...
But really, it was your author's note that caused me the most confusion. Three or four sentences had me re-watching the library episodes with Aoshi on the floor trying to (in some vain attempt) think what you might have been thinking that -he- was thinking...
Needless to say, I got nowhere. The only thing that comes to mind that he might have been thinking then is that doujinshi I've seen where Aoshi takes Misao outside the cabin where Okina is laying.
*sighs* I feel so uncreative.
I thought it was a tad bit depressing, but going for realism over romance usually is. His determination to simply watch over her seemed so Aoshi-like it made me frown. |
CatH 1/23/05 . chapter 1 haha! I just can believe you thinkingo of other things Aoshi might have thought of while he was down on the floor *ehem*
Well, its been awhile also for me in reading an Aoshi POV...so tis refreshing. |
