Absolutely beautiful! I love your fully characterized, more human Enjolras, and I think he's true to the spirit of both the musical and the novel. Personally, I don't like the purists' rigidity... a work is partly how it affects its readers, and it affects each in different ways, whether details stick or slip away, whether their interpretation of a character meshes with another's or not. However loyal to the original it is, though (I firmly believe Hugo supported a relationship between Enjolras and Grantaire, as well as a more human Enjolras, even if he wasn't always portrayed that way) this is absolutely wonderful writing. You're a joy to read.

Ooh. I like. I'm a little drugged-up on pain medication right now, so I don't think I'll make intelligent comments. But they both seem to be nicely in character. I'd like to see a little more... hmm - cynicism? In Grantaire? I don't know what I feel is missing, but there's just some little part of him a little out of touch. But it's very nice. Very sweet. Oh boy, I'm babbling. Well, hope to see some more work of yours soon. Maybe? :)

Wrong French Revolution. ;) (They've had at the very least five) I like RoV, though (well, the manga, anyhow; it's near impossible to catch any good anime without a cable connection. Onto the fic itself: I like it, the characters seem in character, the words are well chosen, and, in spite of what you say, this strikes me as truer to the book than the musical. Maybe it's just me. (Gah: this is what headache medicine does to your brain!)

That's beautiful! *cries* Just beautiful and wonderfully bittersweet. Of course, I can barely remember Les Mis right now so my knowledge of it is sketchy... that, and everytime I hear something about the French Revolution I think 'Rose of Versailles'. *eheh*
