| onewind 2008-07-21 ch 30, | abuseGreat story... :) |
| BookRose 2008-03-01 ch 36, | abuseNo! How could you? Papi never got to see her father again OR make up with Christine. Not to mention it looked like she and Nadir were falling in love...(sob) @~BookRose~@ |
| Treesah Quiche 2008-02-11 ch 21, | abuseOh my goodness, Nadir is so funny. “Perhaps you should try it again, with a bit more tact.” :'D |
| Treesah Quiche 2008-02-10 ch 9, | abuseHOLY SHITE. This story is brilliant. amazing. delicious. I don't even need to dig out my European history textbook -- I'm doing my homework for the class in between reading this. I love how you've managed to write without Erik-bashing or Raoul-bashing or Erik-worship or Raoul-worship. I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of E/R, but all kidding aside, this is wonderful. And I'm glad I'm reading it at 1:10 in the morning hours before an exam on Western civilization. |
| SquintSquad17 2008-01-10 ch 42, | abuseWell, I think this is the best PotO story I've ever read. Everything - and I do mean everything - was perfect. From the characterizations to the plot, you had riveted to my spot in front of the computer. I hope you know how hard it was to have to leave to go to school without knowing what happened next. My favorite part had to be your characterization of Erik. He was exactly how I imagine him to be - a mix of Leroux, Kay, and ALW. You let him grow and change, but he still retained everything we all love about him. Christine, too, I loved. Her actions and thoughts and love for Erik were expertly written. And her plan to win their game, I have to say, was one of my favorite chapters! And speaking of characterization, Papi and Jean-Paul (who was unbelievably adorable) were wonderful OCs. So, I fully expect to find this published soon so I can have my own copy instead of having to resort to staying up to all hours of the night to finish one of your amazing (and long!) chapters. My one quibble would be that now that I'm done, I've found you don't have any other long, chaptered fic for me to read! Maybe an update to something or a new story is in the works? Pretty please? And thank you for writing such an entertaining and remarkable story! :D |
| Mels4 2007-10-10 ch 42, | abuseHello - I have just read your wonderful story over the last week. I just loved every moment of it. You truely showed how Christine loved both Raoul and Erik and you had such a delicious plot going the entire time. You really brought out Erik's torment, loneliness and love for Christine, and you certainly made Christine grow up! I just loved the Reinard family and all of the other characters in your story. You unraveled quite a mystery as the story progressed, and poor Erik had to endure so many hardships. Young Jean-Paul was a darling boy, and Papi's death was so sad - especially for Nadir and her father. I just wish there was more to read - I just adored it. Great job! Mels |
| jeannied 2007-08-25 ch 36, | abuseI just finished reading your story "Fraternite" and I have to tell you, I hated putting it down. It was the best story, I've read here at FanFic, to date. So well written, so full of interesting history, wonderfully developed characters,I just can't say enough about how much I loved it. I wish you would have it published, I would love to buy a hard copy. I will be thinking about this story for a long time to come; as it hard to find story, as good as this one here at fanfic. I know a few ladies who have published their POTO story, and although quite good and fun to read, I swear, they didn't hold a candle to your story. I will be checking out your other stories. I hope you'll write more POTO in the future. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Sincerely, Jeannie in the Bronx |
| s-lky 2007-07-02 ch 1, | abuseNot long completed reading Fraternite and i must say i thought it was amazing. I loved the way you've shown the Christine has grown and matured and Erik is dark but is still able to feel. In "To Breather Again" i felt incredibly emotional when reading the part where Christine saw Raoul again. I don't know why but it really touched me and i felt extremely sad but liked it all the same. The last few chapters were great! I enjoyed reading them inparticular. I think you should consider having it published because dening this to the world is a crime! You are very talented! To be honest, i was very upeset when it cam the then end because i just didn't want it to stop! Fraternite is a brilliant story! Keep up the marvelous work! :) |
| Anonymous 2007-06-14 ch 42, anon. | abuseThis is one of the best stories I have ever read, fanfiction or otherwise. The characters are perfection in every sense of the word, each of them wonderfully complex and beautifully unique. Erik is...brilliant. Dark without being overdone, ingenius but not omniscient...I could go on and on about how well he's been portrayed. As for Raoul and Christine, this is the only time I have ever found myself actually getting attached to them! I don't have much (if any) fondness for their original renditions, but at the same time I have a great deal of respect for the characters. Therefore, I absolutely despise fanfictions in which they are portrayed as anything but who and what they are. And yet somehow, I found myself growing attached to the pair--Christine, who is intelligent yet properly innocent at the beginning, gradually evolving into a stronger but still recognizable person; and Raoul, an honorable, selfless man trying to do the right thing. As for the other characters, they are realistic and fascinating, each with their own distinct personality. The writing style is detailed, well paced, and moving. The amount of research put into Fraternité is also incredible--from language, to scenery, to politics. Truly, this is a masterpiece. Gondolier, please publish it! |
| Lindaleriel 2007-04-25 ch 42, | abuseThis story is amazing! I orriginaly started reading it over a year ago when you were at probably chapter 27 or so, but due to various real life stuff I haven't been active here since. But the other day I had some time and decided to see what stories had been finished in the meantime. This story is one of the most believable and well researched I've ever read on fanfic. And tht fact that I loved it as a confirmed R/C shipper says alot for your sensitive handling of the situation. You can count the E/C fics I havent absolutely hated on one hand and yours is at the very top! I very much appreciated that despite your preferences you do not change Raoul's character or the fact that they did love each other, neither did you just conveniently kill him to get him out of the way. Rather his death is central to the plot, and he is allowed to be the kind and good husband that he would be in flashbacks. I love also that your treatment of the E/C relationship did not try to ignore the existance of Raoul but allowed Christine time to grieve her first husband and love him deeply. She simply loves the two very different men in very different ways. I also love that whime your Erik is sympatetic and has his likeable moments he is not this rediculous cotton candy caricature, all sweet and flufy and rediculous out of nowhere. He is allowed to be the dark, moody, and not particularly nice character that he is, while changing slowly to the man that he could be. I also love your brand of subtle, whity and sarcastic humor. And your weaving the Leroux book into the epilogue was simply inspired! My compliments on an amazing story! (I hope you don't ming me adding this to my Raoul friendly C2 - I usualy try to just put strict R/C stories - but this is exceptional enough that I think it deserves Raoul fans reading as well!) |
| dowarn 2007-04-24 ch 14, | abuseExcellent! Thank you for this wonderful story. I'm so glad I found it. I look forward very much to reading more of your work. |
| iamextraordinary 2007-02-13 ch 42, | abuseit was a very interesting tale. you managed it with such finesse... the first twenty-two chapters were... dreary (all the mood shifts were really trying)... but you managed to salvage it with the next twenty :) good ending. |
| Brooke Kenobi 2007-01-29 ch 42, | abuseOh.Wow. I'm torn between happiness with the ending, and sadness that it's over! Pure magic! I loved it! |
| speedy56 2006-12-31 ch 42, | abuseGondolier- Top-notch writing here, I`m in awe of this story. I felt like I was reading Phantom of the Opera meets Raiders of the Lost Ark (2 of my favorites) This story was one wild ride, never a dull moment. Please continue writing. Cheers! Cathy |
| Kono 2006-11-26 ch 42, anon. | abuseThe best fanfiction I have read, ever. I would publish this as a book. The orginial does not still have a legal copyright does it? I'm sure there is some legal crap to try and block your way, but honestly, this is a masterpiece of literature, thank you so much. |
